I kinda disagree with that, maybe its correct for these forums as most of you guys are not heavlily into modding but espicaly for forums for bfeditor etc all the posts on there can be used again. If i have a question the first thing i do is search that forum for it :)

I don't know what the DCON team is getting upset for? I don't give a CRAP what the sky looks like, As long as the map is well laid out and fun to play.....Thats all i care about.

One of the risks of posting WIP is that none of us knows what the mapper intends to accomplish before the map is totally finished... so you're pretty certain to get any number of comments both good and bad about anything. Rhino made a valid observation and was trying to offer an improvement to make the map better - granted in his own opinion, but thats what a pub forum is for.

The actual lesson here is how you guys react to criticism because if nobody bucked up and dragged this thread out to its 5th page, I bet 90% of guys reading this thread wouldnt have spent more than 2 seconds glancing over Rhino's comment and y'all could have taken the observation internally to your team and decided if he's full of it or has an actual point. He's pinged me on my own WIP map posted in here before and to be honest, if a tiny comment about the map's fog settings is the worst thing anybody in here has said so far - I think you're well on your way to producing a killer map. :) Good work and keep it up.

Man... this is great Now of all things, Dcon gets ripped for how we handle criticisms. We constantly get raked through the coals for alleged plagiarism, leaked content, bashed by other mods. It's really hard to even read the threads here being a dcon dev. I really try to be as humble as possible, but the crap just keeps coming and coming. Then after I take the advice and improving the map, I get hounded for the mere suggestion that it could have been a little more discrete. you just cant win...

It's cool though, the map will rock and a lot of people will enjoy playing it. I think thats what really matters in the end.

No - Im not meaning to "rip" you guys at all. Im just saying dont sweat 1-2 comments when most everybody here is giving you major thumbs up because otherwise you're drawing alot more attention to them. Thats all...

Well, it wasn't really Kiff who made a deal out of the comments, it was me and a few others. Kiff is the gracious one who gave the comments some thought and added them into the map, I don't think they were needed at all, but I didn't make the map, I just really enjoy playing it, and never noticed or cared about the changes.

... And this is the passion I keep speaking about in my posts in DCON's forums.. This same passion that drives all of you to comment if its needed or not.. Or to drive a discussion into the ground or to lift it above and beyond. Its this passion that gives all the modders their drive.

Well, our last thread broke the 100 reply barrier, so we need to keep this going somehow

A couple things are certain, this thread has served a good purpose, we have grown a little and the map has taken on a new found beauty. We can't help it if some people are a tad over protective and have a knee jerk reaction to some peoples comments here. Doesn't mean that all of DCON can't be civil or that we can't take constructive crits... I'm glad we can recognize the importance of working together and respecting each others work and opinions and crits.

Dude.. i still hate you all and I'm keeping DCON to myself..

On a lighter and less evil note. Cause that comment was made.. you should actually see the new look its brought about.. Inadvertantly it all worked out in the end..

If it werent for those damn meddelings kids (mumbles off in handcuffs)

This isn't a big deal, its just rolling along. Besides, theres a difference between a "small suggestion" and a statement. Your tone bothers me personally, maybe its a language barrier, but I doubt it. You proved that with your little smart *** remark about "modders should be perfectionist"

I am, and my specialty is audio pal. I spent some time helping out a PR rep get his sound just the way he wanted the other day. Of course, it was done over MSN, and I didn't post about it on a forum, cause I don't like to grand stand so much.

If you can post your opinions about others work, then be prepared to hear my opinions about your opinions, lol. If you think this is about you Rhino, then get a grip. Check through most of our updates, there is always one of the other mod teams members right there to tell us what should be done different. Then please look up ALL of my posts, they are either "great job, cant wait to play it guys" or nothing at all. :p
