    Re: ModJive Q&A

a torrentdownlod would be cool, because popular mods would have more speeed. :)

Nix job Elxx, íf you like we can test this with OPK for the BSS studios...

Is it possible that "sponsoradvertising" is shown for used DL-links? which source is used? would be nice, Because many of the larger mods are supported by TS-rent.de (FH, EOD, USI, BF1918, BGF, OPK... ), And he finances this engagement for the mods the this with renting TS-Server,...

So do you need a uber pro 1337 mod team to get your mod up or just a good mod? ( )

My concerns are more of a user rather than modder, so heh.

        1) The IP geolocation thing - is it configurable as well as automatic? I'd hate to get malaysia download servers because my ISP routes through asia, for example. :p

        2) Does it minimize to the system tray when minimized?

I can answer for #2, yes.

#1, I'd assume, though, my knowledge is limited, that it would go by pings or something.

Yep, a little sponsor banner from the bandwidth provider can be shown when downloading.

(It replaces the mod image, so it's unobtrusive)

We're going to start doing mod submissions tomorrow evening. Be sure to add me on MSN (check below my avatar) if you have more in-depth questions :)

Elxx will you make a big statement on labs.elxx.net for it?

I can't wait for it to come out...I won't have to browse websites for the mods.

You can always read the latest updates here on TBF2, or you can go to the Sir. Community website and the ModJive website for additional info aswell. The labs site is more for Sandbox/Battleracer enthusiasts, ModJive on the other hand is something that everybody should see :)

You can now submit your mod for inclusion at ModJive.com. I will contact you personally on MSN and walk you through it because the backend is a brand new system and I want everything to go smoothly. :)

It's tempting to just make a rubbish mod just to see the modjive system ^_^

One question that was asked, but specifically to project reality as their last full update required that you completely remove the previous install before installed the new patch (according to their site if i remember correctly) can or will ModJive support this?

                          Re: ModJive Q&A

I have offered several times to host mods for download on my network, i have enough bandwidth to blot out the sun! but not even 1 mod came forward..... i can stream files out each server to clients at over 1200K/s provided there local service can handle it. I have 3 Unix Boxes in florida on Something comparable to an OC48 in a datacenter! Im in AZ, other end of the country and get these speeds.... And i dont use Queuing lines for downloads....

                          The offer still Stands!

That's a very interesting question. It's mostly so I can get more programming experience - why make some useless Pong game from a tutorial in a book? I'd rather do something that people can use. Secondly, I'm a modder who is frustrated by EA/Dice's lack of support for the modding community. ModJive will help mods get more support from the Battlefield community.

I don't plan to sell ads or anything in ModJive, it's all supported by our great sponsors. Oh, and that means we should maybe talk soon

Well, a mod team can't just put up a new file - it's verified first. Also, Modjive doesn't use any silly proprietary DRM packaging system stuff, so you can easily scan the .zip and .exe files yourself if you want.
