Clan PTG Previews Eve of Destruction 2

[PTG]Chef of the PTG Clan has posted up his preview today of Eve of Destruction. Here's what he had to say:
BF2 now has a decent selection of mods to choose from. Each bring their own style and gameplay to the scene and EOD is trying to do the same. You cannot come in to this mod though thinking you’ll get a game that’s as realistic as project reality or looks as good as Point of Existence. You have to remember the Vietnam conflict was gritty, raw, and set in a geographical location beset with jungles and mountains.

EoD 2 will feel Arcady if you’re used to PR and it won’t look that great if you’re used to PoE 2. This may turn some away from the initial rush which is a shame because EoD 2 will have game play experience that you will not get anywhere else. EOD requires a different approach in how you play. It will require skills needed on new weapons brought to the BF2 scene and requires more human control rather than technology leading the way. EoD 2 will be hard to master but for those that do it will be very rewarding.

This mod looks okay but it really needs a lot of work on the models and skins

You make me happy I don't judge based on looks. Hell I still think even the detail looks great anyway. Maps look top notch too, love the settings.

            Thanks for the post :)

Yea i've heard alot of comments about the models and all i can say is to judge them off of the screenshots is a little unfair. I say this because when your playing the mod you realise the dev team have delibrately made it so FPS lag is non existent. There is so much detail in the maps that if they were as sharp as other mods then we'd all have to play on low settings.

You will quickly and easily forget about model detail as soon as your immersed deep in to jungle scenery.

That said they may touch up the models before public release.

What do you mean? I think it looks brilliant. And you cant compare mods, because every mod is unique and has got its own style.
And I like the people who put so much effort into each single mod, ennabling us to experience a new look and gameplay within BF2. And I thank everyone of them :)

I say: And that is how it was, as it should be!!! Thank you EoD, for the GREAT job you have done!

                    Are we crossing wires?

If your taking it as me saying EOD won't look as good as POE in terms of models, textures or along those lines then your mistaken.

What i'm saying is POE is set in an environment with lush landscape and is appealing to the eye. Places where you could go on holiday if no war was taking place.

EOD is set in dense jungle, rocky hills and mountains and is generally replacating an environment where no human would want to be in for long periods of time, (Hope that helps).

As for comparing, thats not my intention other than to point out the comparison's that will occur to most gamers that try out mods. Yes you are right in that we shouldn't compare them to each other as it's unfair. Unfortunately gamers will do it and i just wanted to counteract it :)

Crandaddy. Its an honour to see you here :)

I won't pry in to the when's and where's but i thank you.
