    Operation Peacekeeper Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Operation Peacekeeper mod website that includes new info on the mod as well as Black Sand Studio. Take a look:
    What is this about?
Some months ago the idea of development across different MODs was conceived. On the occasion of a meeting of already cooperating MODs it was agreed/discussed that not every single tree, fence or whatever else needed to be developed over again. This way the idea of possibly combining forces in future was born. As a cooperation between OPF, USI, BGF und BF 1918 was already existing we were happy to agree, too.

    What are our intentions?
In the first place, we plan to complete our BF2-MODs, until we find that we have had enough of it. Next we’ll be looking for a new platform. We’ll let everybody know in good time what platform this will be, and when.

There is, after all a bit of news on OPK:
Presently a few problems are still impeding the release of OPK version 0.18, but we are confident to get a grip on them and to release it soon. We are already working on the content of 0.2. We promise we will not take as much time as we did after 0.15 and 0.18 until the following releases.

Was 0.16 already released? On a previous update I asked about sp support, and somebody told me some maps in 0.16 would have it, but I haven't seen any updates about 0.16. Is it out?

we will finish BF2, when the team do this decision. But that doesn´t mean that we´re not looking which alternatives are avaible.

but first is bf2 the choice.

Well I have known for sometime that it would come down to this. From my understanding many of the fellow Battlefield franchise modders are looking toward other platforms. Teams just can not do enough to seperate themselves from the original "buggy" title's with the given mod tools and or lack of, or being locked out of things ..cough.. unlocks/ranking ..cough.. which plays a huge role in the last few Bf titles making them popular.
I know many modders are just drooling for a breathe of fresh air.

BTW, wish OPK and the other team the best on the future indevours, been a blast modding with ya guys.

                      Re: Operation Peacekeeper Mod Update

I would recommend switching to Armed Assault!!! Its great fun and very moddable!

EDIT: So is singleplayer going to be in 0.18?

                        Re: Operation Peacekeeper Mod Update

AA is not that good... OPF2 may be an alternative.

Dont think the mod scene in bf2 is dead yet, and is it not a good thing that established mod teams are working together and looking towards future endevours, and with luck will bring out mods in future platforms faster?

                          Re: Operation Peacekeeper Mod Update

No, BF2 Modding isn´t dead yet. But this will happen, because there are only 5% of all BF2 players who play mods. No feedback/players --> no fun --> no motivation.

If you like OPK, try the BWMod for Arma, not released, but they work on it. One of the partner of OPK .

We added AI to the vehicles, but many OPK maps wont have SP support. because we have to rework them compltly, the BF2-bots are to stupid. Sad but true.

We will release OPK support for the vanillamaps too, but atm i don´t know if this will happen with 0.18.
