MyInternetServices' Commercial Contest

MyInternetServices is happy to announce a new contest to the community today that involves something very common to us all, the commercial. We're looking for someone to create a MyInternetServices commercial with all of the required criteria. The winning commercials will then be used in our regular advertising campaign and on sites who have already agreed to air them, such as EGLN.net. Before checking out the criteria though, be sure to download the commercials we are currently running so you know what we are looking for.

Commercial Criteria
• 45 seconds long
• Contains game footage from only games that we host or will host
• Must include MyIS logo and URL
• Include tagline "The community's choice for game servers!"
• Be creative!
• Contest deadline: February 28, 2007

* MyInternetServices will have the right to keep all original work and material sent into this contest even if the submission is not chosen as a winner.

Prizes
• 1st Place - $100
• 2nd Place - $50
• 3rd Place - $25

Judging for the contest will be based on a couple of things: Commercial content and quality, ability to meet the criteria, and achieves a selling point to the customer.

When you have completed your commercial, meeting all of the criteria, please find a host to upload your video to (i.e. Filecloud) and send the video file URL as well as all original work files to the following email address:

We look forward to seeing all of the entries sent in and getting these commercials around the internet. The winners will be announced the following day on March 1st, so be sure to check back then. Let the filming begin!

$100 prize to make the community do something which would cost you $5000 or so to get a professional to make.

Why would we need to hire a professional to do them? The commercials we are currently running were all created for free by Greg himself. What's wrong with getting the community involved? And why argue with winning $100 for a 45 second movie...? :|:

yeah but how many hours does a 45 sec commercial take to make, including research / shooting scenes / editing and of course the costs of getting good software to do it (lol) - cuts the prize money down somewhat to the level of minimum wage...eh

But heh, its one of those things aint it - people will do this kinda stuff because they enjoy it, and want the creds - a wee bit more genorisity with the prize would have been better though - perhaps getting a little something off a sponsor for a 3 sec slot on the commercial would have been cool

Yeah...it's just a competition...if you don't want to take part, the fine, but you don't need to ***** because YOU think the winners aren't being rewarded for it...let them be the judge of that. Any portfolio work can be a huge bonus.

I'd rather create a 45 second commercial of my portfolio. But then again, who has time to do free stuff?
