    Project Reality Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Project Reality mod website. Here's what they had to say about the progress on their next release:
    Project Reality v0.4 and BF2 1.41
Project Reality appears to be 100% compatible with BF2 1.41. Feel free to upgrade your clients and servers to BF2 1.41.

In fact we encourage folks to upgrade to BF2 1.41 as testing for the upcoming Project Reality v0.41 patch will be done on BF2 1.41.

    Project Reality v0.41 Patch Status
We are releasing a v0.41 patch to test today. While an unofficial change log has circulated, there's a lot more changes in this release than what was noted in the leaked change log.

One significant area of change in v0.41 has been around vehicular weapon systems. We realized that with the release of v0.40 we had modelled the Infantry weapons at a level of realism fidelity that was mismatched to the level of realism fidelity in the vehicles. As a result you get things like RPGs taking out an M1A2 Abrams in v0.4. That just doesn't happen in reality.

So we spent a chunk of time working on that. It sill needs more tuning and I think will take 2 releases to get it all polished up, but v0.41 is a major step forward in that area.

To check out this entire new update be sure to visit their site.

I haven't played Vanilla since the day .4 came out. Before that I still played Vanilla...a lot. After playing PR I'm pretty sure I can never go back. Vanilla is stoops.

Source ? Im not sure about it but it seem wrong after all its depend on which type of grenades is use and where the tank is been hit

the most a HEAT RPG could do is take of the tracks of a tank if it was really lucky. There are AP RPG rounds but we do not have them ingame. The Heavy AT kit is needed to really take out a tank

um... there are numerous accounts of Russian T-72 tanks withstanding 20 to 30 RPG-7 rounds during the Russian Afghan conflict.

There are *some* accounts of an RPG-7 doing slight damage to modern MBTs when using the newer ammo types, but er.. the damage is generally negligible and usually looks a lot worse than it actually is (eg the tank needs some repairs but has generally remained completely combat capable after the impact).

There are some reports of RPG7s causing significant damage to M1A2 tanks in Iraq, but they are generally regarded with some skepticism and likely a mistake for a Kornet missile attack (which are apparently rare but are found in Iraq). Most often pictures of the results of a Kornet missile strike against an MBT is mistaken for an RPG attack. Kornets can cause a lot of damage.
