It would be nice(at least for me) to think that DCon would be getting that much attention from 2142 players.
I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that's why they released early. I think it has more to do with QW:ET and Crysis more than us. Which would be funny cuz those titles got delayed, which means EA pushed a buggy game to the shelves for no reason. :laugh:

Oh, and I'm not getting the "patch" until the mods confirm it's ok to work with their stuff. :P

Ok i need help here....
How can someone "quit" BF2 but keeps posting on a BF2 forum? Usually when we dont like something, we don't waste our time with it ..( a woman, a car, a game). Am i wrong?

oh, let me tell you, if i could "tell" who told me about this from the inside. I would, but i cant.. their job depends on it.. he/she was a good friend of mine in the marines..now works R&D at EA/taken over DICE.... DCON HAS A HUGE IMPACT on the whole community... I for one have never played it...but i hear good things about the full release...not the CTF vers.

Once you guys have a full all out release..heh i will be in line...

but for now he/she knows the "bosses" fked up big time with BF2 and 2142... they think that FSX is going to impact their sales of 2142 also... lol FSX has already sold around 16 million copies....hahahahhah go bill gates...

most that say they quit, are refering to the buying and updating of this bull hockey.... when in reality all they are doing is waiting for DCON or POE2 or some other mod to come out that doesnt NERF the game... like poe2 has smoke arty folks... love it!!! POE2 also has a tourney that is going to be back up soon...i hope...

Grabbed the file over the weekend and i'm well impressed. I've been doing incrementals so felt a bit miffed like all else on here about the size of this. But man, my BF2 is super smooth now. Don't know what they did, was it just the difference between incrementals & complete upgrade but there is a surprising difference in performance. Anyone else noticed this?

Because it's a full patch, does it require a clean 1.0 install to work? Or do you just roll it over a 1.4?

so what happend with the linux server files? I provide unranked server files on linux and I cant move on to 1.41...

Yes, precisely. In fact, I really can't think of a major game server host who runs their servers on Windows boxen. If anyone can point me to this file, I'd appreciate it.

The only complaint I have against this patch is that there are not enough servers running it. I already updated to 1.41 and can't go back to 1.4 so I'm stuck.

As usual EA pale in comparison to the likes of Valve, Epic Games, id Software, THQ, et al.

I don't care how many people are purchasing 2142, I want excellent gameplay and will be getting Frontlines: Fuel of War. Created on a very mature engine which is driven by an excellent developer, Tim Sweaney.

The reality is that EA do suck in so many ways and those who don't put up with bollocks and want better will go buy other games - like me :)
