Has anyone else encounted lag with this nerw patch (1.41) me and some of my clan mates have encounted dogy lagging since the update, despite our pings being in the low 30's

I think I heard my brother complaining about lagging with the new patch while I was trying to sleep. I downloaded the patch a couple nights ago but still haven't installed it since previous patches have taught me that it will probably make the game worse, so I'm going to just play 1.4 servers for as long as I can. Actually I think I'm gonna go back to playing CS:S.

they are pieces of **** for releasing this patch....its BF2 we want the patch for not POS 2142
imo im done with bf2, i dont play it all now.....just waiting for FH2 and Dcon

Holy **** guys, it's just a patch. Calm down. I'm running both 1.41 and 1.4 with barely any problems at all. Just a few moments of unusual lag and bullet-resistant MEC. Just a typical day on the battlefield.

uhh.. ok. i downloaded the patch and i cant install it. when i click on it to install, all does is make a noise like it is loading up and then my computer just gets quiet again. can anyone tell me what to do. i cant get it to run the patch!

bf1942 took years to patch.
get a grip seriously, or just go away please, because theres countless and pointless posts in here just hogging up space, that we, the people who are interested in the game have to wade through.

Please will the EA **** Riders get out of this forum? Its very apparent that this patch sucks. I quit BF2 awhile ago. They have yet again failed to address balance issues, the special forces division is totally gone. So the ones that did enjoy SF, can't play. As for someone up above saying people play the mods? Thats a laugh no one wants to play a mod because theres no ranking, and they don't get precious unlocks.

I can't stand a **** rider, no one here to me is whining they are simply complaining about something that everyone should of done awhile ago. EA is going to end up taking over alot of game companies. Look what they did to the other sports titles? They bought the rights to the football team names, and now those games pretty much blow ***. They gotta make it so that you don't got a choice but to go out and buy crap. EA are slave drivers, they do nothing for the gaming community. The old less giant EA may of been cool, but this new attitude they have sucks ***.

I am simply done buying BF Series it had a good run, but EA ruined it. They can't listen to the community their support is some *** hole who copies and paste from a word pad simple answers that have nothing to do with your question, and if it does its never anything wrong with their product. No it has to be your PC thats messed up. We put up with **** long enough.. Theres plenty of other good games coming out. I will tell I am not a console fan by no means. However I did get a chance to check out Gears of War on the 360, and that unreal 3 engine will own. So Frontlines: Fuel of war will own. It can do pretty much everything. If you haven't played gears of war check it out.

As far as this topic goes, my entire post was useless. If someone by chance does bother to read it, they will 1. Either hate me, and make a big post why EA is cool, or 2. Agree. It seems DICE, has messed them selves over this time around. Sorry guys but you let down alot of people. This thread proves it.

I just got banned from a server on CS:S because everyone was accusing me of hacking since I was kicking ***. And then an admin said "yep he's hacking" and banned me. So yeah, CS:S has its own problems too. But I guess I should take it as a compliment, but I hate having to worry about playing too good just to hear bitches whine. It's not hard to tell the difference between hacking and playing good.

It happens on BF2 sometimes, but it happens on CS:S quite a lot. Admins there are just powerhungry tools. I could go on about a CS:S rant but it's not worth it. I've been banned on BF2 a couple times because people accused me of hacking, because I guess it's hacking to mow down idiots who run in front of my tank shooting at me with their pistols. Or "how did he know where I was, he must be hacking" or it's called a UAV, learn to use it.

so what happend with the linux server files? I provide unranked server files on linux and I cant move on to 1.41.. this is NICE !! I really think that EA is doing this on porpuse.. to force BF2 players to switch to 2142 crap.

Im SO pissed off...

This is nice, no linux files released They really do wanna make everybody quit the game. But it tell u this, not everybody quiting bf2 will play bf2142, i for 1, wont. so its really a shame they cant hold on the support. At least leave it intact, why **** the game over.

There are other changes than stability. I've noticed that one has to get closer to the flag for a capture. Snake

I've not noticed that. I have found some stuttering though, as if the game is loading areas of the map into the memory, it stops after a few moments of play thankfully. Could just be me.

My biggist thing, and I think its on the minds of alot of people.
Yeah, the CTD's where bad but.... Why did the performance drop soo much with the 1.2 patching? Why has it became the memory whore it is?
I was kind of upsetted when I spent $900 in computer upgrades to play BF2.... And oh wait..... 1.2 patch you need buy another gig of mem. To use your system with at lag. Cause with only a gig.... even on low settings.... It still get harddrive lag. Now what caused this? Really I could care less about CTD's I'd rather have it optimized game engine that mod's could further game dev with. See but it didn't play out like that. Which is fine. I wont be buying 2142 cause it doesn't appeal to me. If they could explain why the performance was lost I'b be content. But really I only just play PoE2. And when FH2 comes out I'll play that.

I have 4gb or corsair XMS mem...windows cant even use it but hell i have it...also have X-fi 64mb sound....have 2 7800 512mb in sli..thats 1gb of vid mem too all running at 16x with my asus board..... after all that **** spent... guess what i still have lag ...oh and i have t1....after that patch that they took away c4 and the h-60 guns..this game has been crap!!! I personally know that the C4 tossing was lagit but a bunch of 13yo's whined about it not being real..so EA the child molesters that they are changed it... now they came out with this crap.... not going to DL it at all!!! servers are still running 1.4 so thats what i will play...


IMO EA knows that D-con will rob them of a bunch of 2142 players... they were not going to release 2142 until next spring but the rumors of d-con having a release soon made them push it up....also if you notice all the ingame advertising is for 2142...no more mod ad's... LOL

Well, I think EA is trying to make good on BF2.... I mean by this time in the game if they hadn't come to terms with how starked mad ALOT of people are then they are flat out blind. No compay wants people to hate there product nor dislike there company for a product that they distrubuted. Thus EA bought DICE. Now we are seeing patches. I think they are trying to get thier sh~t together. But it can clearly be seen things are coming apart at the seems over in sweden. I think they should have postponed the release of 2142 and focussed ALL of there attention on fixing and optimizing BF2 just to insure high sales rates of 2142. I don't blame EA for how BF2 turned out. They have had little control of it. I blame DICE. DICE got ahead of theirselfs. Now hopifully we can all learn from there mistakes. EVERYONE thinks BF2 was handled wrong at some point in there career playing BF2.
