Correct you are Jimbob, it was a good call.

I was going to reply to Jokers comment about the code team on DCON by saying...

Until you try our gamemodes, until you shoot weapons and fly/drive vehicles. Until you play with our Laser Designator system, and try our Scud and MLRS (and the BM21), you have no idea what a miracle squad I am paired up with.

But your banned, so need to respond to you anymore. There probably never was one, but I am pig headed, lol. ( I hijacked my own thread, im done now)

Like I mentioned, just fix the flying weiner and the bland textures + scale of the buildings and you should be ok. Perhaps later down the line when your coders finish taking COBOL in college they'll be able to add the ability for people to move in the AC130 with a patch.
funny how not even the people who made the F*cking game new how to solve the collision problems, yet you have the balls(or lack there of) to try and put down a mod team who has access to less then have the engine, and mediocre modding tools, for not being able to fix the problem...

So tell us dumbA** how can we fix the collision problems, oh wait your banned.....

honestly, just honestly, are all kids this god damn stupid, if so we....are f*cked....

Off-topic: Unfortunately, it's a 5 day ban. But, let's be the bigger man and leave him alone. I'm sure he'll prove himself worthy of a permaban soon enough.

On topic: WOOT! Everything's looking great. Can't wait to get this out to the public.

            For the mod team,

What will be the plan for what the crew of your AC-130 will consist of & be able to do? How many folks will be part of the flying/shooting, with more (?) along for the ride?

I don't play mods (other than BF2C) and don't have BF1942 or Desert Combat, but this might just be enough to win me over.

Really superb job with the graphics & photos, btw!

For those inquiring about single player, we will not be implementing it into the first release. Maybe down the road if enough interest is shown.

just for the record, it could be opened up to expose the seated players to enemy fire. players walking around inside would cause bf2 to crash. the bad side would be when it's on the ground and you tried to walk into it, you would hit an invisible magical barrier. imo its better just to close it up and avoid the wtf factor

and another thing :) its not hard to run into limitations in the bf2 engine. it doesnt matter how good of a coder you are. theres just some limitations you just cant code around. however, give me the c++ source code and then we could talk, but of course that won't happen

I figured Joker would have harped us on them right off the bat.
I guess a challenge is in order to see who can pick them out first.
(Nope, shadows isnt one of them. The plane is in the shadow of the mountain.)
(The shadows on the plane is actually a game engine limitation. It doesnt know to turn those off)

Thats due to the Land Gear being down (back wheels too), which is only because the plane has not yet reached the required speed for the gears to ascend into the fuselage.

If you fly any planes on the BF2 engine (especially at low speeds) you will know that the gear will remain down until a certain speed is reached.

If that speed is set too high the gears will remain down, if to low the gears will ascend during take-off.

So it may be that the required speed is set too high for that slow of a plane, which is a easy fix.

Oh, you really want to ask this??

Okay, NO DISRESPECT AT ALL to the guys who put this together, and who did a fantastic job. However, if you want nit-picking...

                            1. Tail code. AFSOC aircraft don't have letters on the tail ("FF" in the pictures), and haven't for quite some time.

                            2. Windows on the right side of the aircraft. The AC-130 has a couple near the #3 prop... see http://spectrumwd.com/c130/image2/ac130_69.jpg

                            3. ECM wings. See same picture, and http://spectrumwd.com/c130/image2/ac130_71.jpg as well. There are (as of a few years ago... not reflected in older images) some large pods permanently installed on the AC-130H that contain ECM antennae.

                            4. Refueling receptacle and markings. Located on the top of the plane just at the back of the flightdeck with "Christmas tree" markings to guide the tanker's boom, AC-130's have had the refueling receptacle for quite a while. See http://spectrumwd.com/c130/images/ac130_42.jpg

                            5. NOT a problem... the 20mm guns are not present, which is actually accurate. They were removed to reduce weight, as of a few years ago. Are they still going to be modeled for shooting purposes? Would be accurate for first Gulf War timeframe or mid 90's, but not this decade.

This is way, WAY nitnoid stuff, and a testimony to how good the model is that I have to find this sort of minutia. NONE of these remarks is a complaint, just an answer to the challenge posted above.

Regarding the crew complement... what role would you envision the copilot having in the mod? I know what he does in real life, but what are your plans?

Any thought to include UAV-like capability on the aircraft (as the Little Birds do in Armored Fury)? The real gunship has better UAV-capability than most UAV's do, but of course it's not exactly "balanced" against ground troops, either!

Most excellent model, and perhaps the reason I'll download the mod when it's up & flying. My compliments to everyone involved!

Oh so close on one missing thing, and you tagged on the missing Vulcans.

They are harder to see since the pictures were resized at photobucket.
                              No windows.
                              No pilot.
