Desert Conflict Mod Update - Doorstop's Journal

The Desert Conflict mod is back today with a new update showing off some new in game screens. Here's what Doorstop had to say:
Happy Halloween all! Hope you all have a great Halloween. Please remember to walk where people can see you if your going trick-or-treating and carry flashlights. Always remember to check your candy before you eat it.. Some people are just sickos in this world. If your heading out to parties, please drink responsibly. Don't drive drunk. We'd like to keep talking to all of you for years to come and most of all we hope to kill you ourselves for years to come.

So let me first thank you all for having a look at this. My first Journal entry for DCON. Let me give you a bit of a run down on how this came about. Sinister from the PR Dept and Azrael thought it would be a great idea for me to start a running journal of sorts to help show you the fans the progress of things. Now I must add that this probably wont be very graphical in nature. Everynow and then I may show you some pictures of stuff. For instance today I have some pictures to show to help illustrate some of the snags we've discovered while working on stuff. But back to how this came about and why I feel its a good thing.

This is only a journal, NOT the final product. This thead is aimed to connect more with the fans and giving us the inside look on how things are created, and the problems the DEVS had to work through.

            Reading comprehension FTW

              Thats because its WIP pics!
A lot has happen with the map since they took those shots.
No detailobjects, grass etc where there at that time...

LOL @ the impressive screenshots.. Its a peek. A glimpse. A glimmer of how things are going.. WIP you know.. ughh.. no use explaining that which has been told numerous times.. Please feel free to do better. NEXT! unfortunately every bunch has to have at least a minimum of one.. They all expect final detailed finished work.. You'll see that.. when its time.. But comments will always be made.. Have fun picking if you like.. The not impressive part is bf2 pallets.. Thats not impressive. Besides its not about the map.. It was about problems with statics..

                Jeez.

Ugh, just bc its WIP doesn't mean you have to put the game settings on the lowest possible...Cool update, but its def better to use high settings even on WIP stuff.

i like the idea alot, i can obviuosly see that the map in the screenshots need some working, but im sure it will be bar none when it is finished
DCon devs just wanted to know if there will be crappy cone of fire in the mod or atleast make the guns "accurate" (takes like 15 shots to take out a person in vanilla; dont you dare say i have n00b accuracy )

LOL ok, i just havent been to impressed with all the screnshots yet considering you released that ***** *** video like 2 or 3 months ago, i thought u would have been releasing high res shots more often now is all, and not showing WIP shots.

I think its a great idea. I enjoyed learning alittle about what it takes to fix certain things.

I dont know how much it takes to really creat and develop stuff for a mod, but its interesting to see you work out issues most of us will never see.

P.S. Never explain yourself or apologize for your work. You put yourself out on a limb just doing this kind of an update, and I aprreciate it. I would like to see more development updates like this, to give us an idea of how much work this really takes to do right. Half done renders is just laziness, this is something different. You cant beat a progress journal, if your really a fan of course.

Its obvious when people want you to fail, and you guys have your share of them, lol. I hope to see all the jerks on the El Al fields, and I will settle your crap talking the DC way, lol.

No offense, but its obvious that you completely missed the point of this thread. By completely, I mean COMPLETELY.
