The Desert Conflict mod has been quiet for awhile but they are back today with a progress update on their mod. Here's what they had to say:

I know you all are bothered by the lack of updates and so on and so forth. Its normal to feel that way. Also normal to voice your issues. However, work goes on behind the scenes..
So, here is a brief update. Its not visual but it'll have to do for the moment.
We've just started getting our newest test build to the testers and are about to begin a new batch of testing. Some bugs - mainly minor ones - but annoying nonetheless, are being hammered out and dealt with. The new maps are looking good. Some Lightmapping issues have crept up on some static so i'm having to rebuild a few of them to solve this issue.
The coders are tweaking the vehicles currently as well as some last minute additions of vehicle models and what not. A new build is being put together as I type for the devs which should become the final build for the testers.
The mappers are making sure the maps look pristine. I.e. making sure no grass is popping out of static models flooring or making sure rock arent floating or buildings arent floating and so on and so forth. Sound is adding their magic to the mod by adding ambience to the maps and vehicles and tweaking the sounds as we decide on what sounds best for a specific model.
Life for the team is as normal as can be. We keep trudging on. We're a small group of guys but a group who love this mod more than anyone and who have spent more hours working on it than you all have spent on almost anything.
The team is dedicated and steadfast on getting it as bug free as we can and getting it the way we want and being happy with it.
When news such as video or pictures become available we will post it. Testing in mass hasn't begun and therefore no pictures.. We take alot of our pictures in game while testing this generally shows the current status of our advancement towards an Alpha Release to the public. This completes my spiel on the subject.
