IDF - Fight For Independence Mod Update

The team behind the IDF - Fight For Independence mod is back today with their latest progress shots. They have some new renders as well as in game screens. Take a look:

Today, October 6th, we commemorate the 1973 Yom Kippur war, when 33 years ago, Israel was suddenly attacked by the armies of Syria in the north and Egypt in the south, on its holiest of days. May the fallen rest in peace.

Do not be mistaken for the lack of news to be a sign of us sitting around idling, we have been hard at work these past few months, and would like to display a small amount of goodies, so with no further delay:

First is the updated M48 Patton tank that has been retextured by chungking2399 who is one of our newest members, and is currently working on texture touchups, so this is just a sample of his work.

Second, some WIP structures that are required for our maps, made by DeflectionDrive and Ido.

Looks good, its a dam shame that there probably wont be the player base for mods when 2142 is out.

Looks good, its a dam shame that there probably wont be the player base for mods when 2142 is out.

I wouldn't worry. A lot of people (such as myself) aren't too fond of the futuristic setting of 2142, and chances are, BF2 iisn't going to lose very many players.

Nice skin on that tank, too.

BF2 will still have as many players as BF2142. BTW - play the 2142 demo - the game will not be anything speacial and I knew it never would. If you like mods BF2142 is the game for you - cause that's all it is. BF2 will still have players - so keep puttin' out the good content mods!

Great to see a mod with Israel in it. If they wanted to make this mod totally realistic the Israeli team would kill all the other teams with no problem. lol

Swoosher, if you think that 2142 is a mod, then that means BF2 is a mod.

no....

BF2142 can be considered a mod as its modifying the BF2 engine, same way BFV modified the BF42 engine.

BF2 is on its own engine, therefor is not a mod, your logic is flawed......

Thank you all.
Well this is just an "intro" for the next update.
This update is for those of you that thought we are dead.
Well the team is very small but we are doing our best.
As for the Statics ill just say ignore this first version because more update are coming,
SOON.

Thanks for the kind words guys, makes it all worth while, the texture on that tank is sweet, we have some very talented people, wait till you see the rest! I do hope that 2142 doesnt make bf2 dead, well the mod side of it anyway, but i agree i think 2142 will just be another sf that will get boring quick, but hell if worst comes to worse then we could always port to 2142 Stay tuned for more update and as Malchi says there will be a new site very soon.
