    TESTING, TESTING
Gustavsson: We actually prototyped a number of new game modes, but we never really felt they were good enough to kick out the good-old Conquest mode. We tried hard to get CTF in there, but in the end it came down to testing. As we were promising 64-player games, we had 150 people testing it, and to have them test a new game mode on top of finding bugs - in the end, it meant we were running out of time.
You have got to be kidding... They blamed their lack of testers to the fact that we only have 1 game mode in this game?

Most adults spend $50 or more on dinner and a movie for 2 anyway, so it's not like you are being taken for $100,000 or anything. When you are done watching the movie, they don't owe you another 400+ hours of movies. When you are done eating, the restaurant doesn't owe you a steak. So I ask you, how is it that this is supposed to make sense?
This comparisation is a bit funny. But let me ask you in another way according to your comparisatios:
If your "steak" was promised to be a half-pounder but you get a quarter-pounder and you have no chance to complain about it and just have to eat it or leave it. Would you eat there a second time?
Or if you watched a movie which was horrible... would you go and watch the sequel just because they promised you it would be better than its predecessor (like they already did in the commercial for the first one)?
I hope you get the point in my comparisations. The money you spend is not the point. The point is that you don't honor someone with your money again who fooled you one time. The sad thing is: some people never learn, so companies like EA also never learn to "make good movies" or give you the "half-pound steak" they promised.

I've seen a common thread in all the "Wow this is disappointing" threads, that is that those people enjoy complaiing more than they do playing. Thank God no one is forcing you to keep playing right? But I see you are enjoying the game so much so you are proud to display your stats in your sig, ona BF2 forum no less.

This method of attempting to equate their experience with BF2 to a major robbery has been played out to death 100 fold, in many cases user error has been the culprit (read some posts in the tech and support sections for proof). It's always easier in those cases to blame someone else for ones own mistakes. The game was never perfect, it never will be. Everyone has to make the decision to either play it or not, instead of wanting the community at large to coddle them every step of their lives.

        Well said mate.

What a joke. Just a total joke that shows how little Dice actually understands whats going on. The whole unlock issue just hits the nail on the head that they don't have a clue.

Lars if you read this, GET BACK TO THE ROOTS OF BF2!!!

          What that means is...
          Paper, Rock, Scissors
          Skill based combat
          Maps that require tactics
          Vehicles that require tactics

          What that does not mean...
          Commander Arty and UAV
          AI controlled weapons
          Unlocks
          Cone of Fire
          Mirror Balance

If you need more help, call the PoE guys as they are the only ones who seem to know whats up.

Just to add my 2 cents the mistake they made is in the changes to the game play.

They should have taken a diffrent aproach instead of nerfing down they should have imporoved the other teams weapon system to find a better balance.

For example instead of nerfing the J10 as many ppl have asked for they should just make the f35 better.

            Always nerf up!!!

I think any developer should always be very very very did I say very wary about making any big changes in game play or physics!

They should only make small corrections

Sure after three months they managed to fix that little bit but not the server crashing etc.

It is my firm opinion that Retail war games involving shooting are made by people who like to nerf and fat finger the code into a uneditable mass of FUBAR and patch the community out of existance while shoveling the next great retail steaming pile down the line. (Usually in time for christmas.)

                  Dont believe me?

Check out the string of trumpet heralds calling out the silver song of a new and wonderful 2142 soon to be bestowed upon us by a grateful develioper who has found the religion!

                  BLEAH.

What about if all server admins installed the original unpatched version? I suppose the downfall to that would be that players couldn't play new maps, euro, sf, and af.

We will have to wait and see. We pheasants only get the handouts at the city gate far from the Throne Room.

Also would like to note that the Q system sucks. It should be 1 click and not hold and select. Did they EVER think about how the hell air would spot using the Q system? NO, they did not!

What kills me is that everyone is pretending 2142 is a new game...for the love of Pete (whoever he is) IT'S A HIGH PRICED MOD. I'll bet that there will be the same problems.

                            Hey...one question....

                            WHERE IS SUPPLY LINES?
