The End of Rise of Kobol

We have some sad news today coming from the team behind the Rise of Kobol mod. Here's what they had to say:

It is a sad day on Kobol my friends. The interest in RoK has dwindled amongst the community and the DEV team. It is Rise of Kobol’s time to close the doors and become the mod people debate years from now if it was a myth or real. The only true as possible Zero G mod on the BF2 engine, or on any Battlefield game to release thus far.

The website will close in one week from today or sooner.

For those saddened by the news should hold out hope. The content for RoK might be used for a possible sister mod for RoK on BF2142, so keep an eye out for its possible appearance.

This mod has some great gameplay and potential.
I was very happy when they released a playable version, and I was looking forward to the next version.
This mod has squad distance teleportation, awesome flying physics, that was just amazing to master.
My hat goes off in honor of the devs behind this great game, that was in my book, the first true total conversion mod to get downloaded for BF2.

Worry not my friends! I am with the "Rise of Kobol Syndicate" [RoKs],and have been involed with this mod from the early forum days.This mod is continuing with part, RoK dev-team and new dev-members as well,and we are moving to BF2142! Just a new name and storyline.....We would like to thank Lex Luthar, for the begining of a great mod, and this new sister/offspring mod will live on!!! BUT! We must never forget the BF BSG founder,Lex!
