No, a skin doesn't cause lag if it has the same size, two skins, with the same size, one done by the best skinner of world and other done by a 3 years old kid have the same impact in performance.

Now I know nothing about skinning, but if you used an insanely high res pic to skin something, would that not cause lag?? maybey video lag? is that it?

If you put like a 4056x4056 skin on it, it would lag really bad. As long as the UV map is the same size, it doesn't change performance at all, period.

imo i think this mod has always looked poor just look at the skins for it, it wud be surprising if it gets any better. old dc game was good but when u dont have same crew re-making it its gonna be a struggle
