ABR v1.21 Released

As mentioned in yesterday's update about 1.4 compatibility, a new version of the Alternative Battlefield Ranking program has been released. Take a look:

We're back with another update on ABR, and today we release the NEW client! This New client version, 1.21 is compatible with 1.4 and helps you find the ABR-enabled servers. If you still use the old client, you'll be noted about the new client version on start.

The client is needed, to make Battlefield 2 show your ABR stats in the BFHQ, and helps you select the unlocks just like in the Official EA Ranked world. You can customize the client for your needs, add some graphics, or show only your specific world. Mod-teams that want to build their own client, to incorporate that in their mods, can find the technical information in our wiki.

To all people asking where to sign up, or register a world, this information will be announced on our frontpage news, as we are reopening ABR in Phases, one world at a time. Due to the limited amount of people in our team, and the massive amount of questions we get, we like to urge people NOT to email us, with your activation/world-registration requests. Thank you.

Is the ABR for regular players of BF2 wishing to use POE or similar mods or is this for server owners only?

Abr is for every player, Mod-player or Vanilla BF2

ABR provides almost the same system as EA, only for free.
Server Owners can sign up their server, and participate in the available ABR ranked 'worlds'

Tournaments, can request a 'ranked world' and track their statistics for that tournament!
in other words, ABR is for everybody, and is very versatile.

Currently we have a 'Public ranked world' which just reopened, for signup.

This 'world' represents a copy of the EA Rank system, the only difference is that we allow certain 'Custom Maps' there.

We also have the Project Reality World ( www.realitymod.com ), actually 2 Project Reality Worlds.
1 public world ( stats URL: http://www.gloryhoundz.com/stats/ ), and their tournament world, where the Tourney stats are recorded.

As you see new news coming up from ABR on a daily base now, i can already tell your that the USI ( http://usi.jarhedz.com/ )ranked world is almost ready to go, and next on the list is Operation Peacekeeper ( www.opkmod.com ), and the PaintBallMod.

More mods are interested, either unofficially confirmed, or just not within a reach of 2 weeks. - again, stay tuned on the news, we'll keep you informed!

Very nice work and we always appreciate free things.

I hope that other mods will expand on this and create medals, ribons/etc for other mods; because lets face it that is an attractive item to have and will bring the crowds.

How secure and honest is this system gonna be though?

ummm, nice work and thanks for that.....but....ppl are bitching everywhere about players that statwhore, that play just for points....don't u think that ABR will encourage statswhoring like the bf2 stats system did?

Is a Ranking System for Mods. Is THE Alternative Ranking System aproved by EA and DICE.

Mod teams can use ABR to start statistics for their servers, just like EA's does with the ranked servers. The differences are:

ABR is For Free
ABR Allows Mods
ABR Allows Custom Maps.

War is hell, and babies will whine no matter what happens, beleive me, They whined in the days before systems like this, and they will continue to do so.

Is a compleate separate system, at ABR we reproduce the EA system ofr our Public Ranked World (is the same), but there is no cross stats between EA and ABR. If you start on ABR today, you start from zero.
