The team behind the Point of Existence mod is back today already hard at work on their next release for BF2. Here's what they had to say:

We strongly encourage inspired mappers to create fan maps for POE. Sgt.Wedge has put together an extremely infomative post about mapping for POE and has provided all of the files you need to do so. We thought it would be interesting to show who exactly is playing POE. Here is some information about who is installing our mod. This information is gathered through the GEIP program which players can agree to when installing our modification.

this poe mod is excellent i luv it and i luv the maps the guns and also the vehicles y couldnt they do this on ranked servers

Well spoken my Canadian neighbor.

In the grand days of DC, FH1, EOD, Pirates, POE1, etc. the thrill came from being on the winning side. There were point whores of course, even without ranks.

For the most part though, you would use the assets you had to dominate the other side as a group. People had very little tolerance for wasting tanks and such, for glory rides.

That what makes MODs more fun, and I hope it stays that way. Online FPS games just dont seem the same with ranks added to the equation. Now I sound like a crabby old man, damn.
DO you want it to be like WOW? People playing to trade and sell ranks on Ebay (am I too late?)........
