    BattleGroup Frontlines Mod Update

The team behind the BattleGroup Frontlines mod is back today with update number 11. This time around they have some new player models to show. Take a look:
The German word “Landser” comes from “Landsknecht”, a mercenary soldier in the 15th and 16th century. It’s normally used to describe a common soldier. There were many different uniforms and equipments released by the Wehrmacht throughout World War Two but the general look always remained the same. The uniform colour, except for the Waffen-SS and late war Heer units, was field grey and the typical German M35 helmet was used for the whole war.

The BGF Wehrmacht soldier wears a M43 uniform model and of course the M35 helmet. As standard equipment he carries 6 ammunition pockets (each contains 5 rounds), the gas mask M30 in a round tin can, a spade, a camouflage tarpaulin (of which four were needed to build a tent), a satchel for personal goods, a bag and a water bottle.

I joined this site just to tell you that those are the most realistic player models I have seen, for ANY game, in a long time!

Excellent work guys! The bump maps, the texturing, the detailing in the face and tools, the jacket lapels, the boots; it's just amazing!

Thank you! I look forward to your mod!

The modelling is very nice, but the neck to crotch distance is off, he's out of proportion, ie. main torso is too long. He looks like he needs to hike his pants up quite a bit.

Other than that he looks good. :)

Looks in proportion to me, but hey, you're probably more likely to notice than me :)

It still looks very very nice though, a great update.

His proportions are exactly as they should be.

That's because his pants are baggy. They were modeled that way because they were worn that way.

Very nice indeed, more realistic than FH2.

I'm not talking about the bagginess in the legs, i'm talking about how low the crotch of his pants is sitting. take a straight frontal shot and compare it with a real man, noone in the 1940's wore their pants that low, I doubt is balls are that big :p

                              very nice model and skin!

I would like to see both FH and BGF playermodels ingame. Now every mod has his own type of rendering. The real impression is to be found ingame!
