Re: Desert Conflict Mod Update
To the Devs: Ignore the bashers/Trolls. Your hard work, solid models and dedication to this mod speaks volume about your character and what direction this mod is heading.
Let us the Fans handle these bashers for you, don't waste your time answering stubborn fools.
To the Bashers/Trolls: Way to bash a FREE product. So you’re a Fan of another mod and afraid DCon is growing popularity, boo hoo. They’re popular because they’re putting out quality products period. It doesn’t matter what name they pick, quality products = customers happy.

Between that post and your other one above, there isnt really anything left to say. If anyone thought that this team was porting maps, or any other team, you obviously havent done your homework.Originally posted by LahLahSrI find it rather distasteful that someone would attribute motivation and intent purely because of a name. It's also a touch on the naive side to think that there will be any "fans" because of a name alone.
Does that mean that "Rising Conflicts" is a so-called "con" too? Are they riding the coattails of every other game that has similar words?
Should we have lambasted the Desert Combat crew for "trying to get fans" by riding the coattails of Operation Desert Storm?
Again, anyone unable, unwilling or incapable to look beyond a title is beyond therapeutical reach...
Cheers :-)
I have read from several different developers posts that this isnt possible.
How does a group profit from a name? Especially when there isnt anything to sell or make any money off of. Just dont play it if you have some sort of weird problem of your own. No one will miss you im sure.Leave a comment:

TrollOriginally posted by CasperUnderdogs? Hardly, they took the name of a popular mod to try and get fans. If they want respect then they need to change their name and be original. Dcon is appropriate as the mod feels like a "con" to me. Change the name and there would be no more problem.

In any event I am sure the Dcon team has worked hard. We have seen a lot of things out of them. The MRLS looks so cool and that might just be the highlight to the mod... and the A10 which everyone loves.
I say, lets wait till release and let their work stand on their own.Leave a comment:

Respect is given where respect is due - or denied by those who have no concept of what respect is.
Let's examine the hypothesis that any map is a port.
1) Is it not true that the better the craftmanship that has gone into actually re-creating the map, the more identical the maps will look? Is anyone here in the least bit unlcear about this?
2) How does one successfully come to a conclusion that a map is ported from a handful of screenshots? Checking out screenies is not exactly due dilligence. Personally, if I was to accuse anyone of a criminal act, I'd be thorough. People who callously and frivulously throw accusations around aren't "nice people" are they?
3) Imagine, hypothetically, if the map really was a port - what difference does it make to anyone of us players? If the map looks good and works well, all we have to do is play on it, right? Or is someone trying to suggest that this forum of full of law-abiding people with not a single piece of illegitimate software, mp3-file or other copyrighted material you really shouldn't have?
Clearly, such unfounded accusations can only come from people who either are:
1) Very poorly mannered, have no impulse-control and with very little analytical intelligence
2) or have an agenda of some sort, motivated by who knows what?
3) inclined to start forum-flame-fests for no reason other than to enjoy themselves
Whatever it is, I find it both reasonable and justifiable to deal with them accordingly. I like my mod-developers to show a little back-bone. They are working their butts off for free, offering everyone (tards and real humans alike) the fruits of their labor. They ask nothing of anyone and they colunteer updates.
This puerile culture of entitlement shown in so many forums these days is revealing of the age group who is frequenting them. "the customer is always right"....
In fact, "die beoches" seem both moderate, tempered and very mature by comparison. So, yeah...I'll say with as much tongue-in-cheek to y'all "die biacthes!" lol. Why not work on getting a bulk-discount on diapers for this forum?

IMHO it was because these guys are trying to recreate the feel of a beloved mod-DC, and ofcourse some people got offended, thinking that all there trying to do is capilize off of DC's success-wich is not the case at all if people would actually do some research....but flamers never doOriginally posted by HaVOCK-ElEEtYou guys seem to be the underdog, so I am voting for you first, I always love the underdog. Im not sure how you got this status, your work seems amazing, and I will be playing it the second its available.

Imagine the assist points that pilot's gonna get! LOLOriginally posted by Heavy552(AWG)Actually, you gottas think about pilot's mind.
If he can go in circles in a 30 degree left bank around a target for his gunners to blast good deal. Alot of time was used establishing orbits around good target areas.
