You need to clarify....do you mean the client or the server? If its the client theres a shortcut on your desktop. OR you can do it from within BF2 menu.

If its server you need to clarify MORE. WIn or Linux? Using BF2CC or SSH?

i cant start the mod now but i cant get in a server 6 sec in to loading i crash to desk top :wall:

Great mod, I just wish there were a server or two running Rally Race mode. Seems you guys did a great job with that, cheese changed the server to it last night and it was awesome.

As of now every server is running Conquest and people are playing their hearts out trying to cap flags and get kills and stuff, just like normal BF2. We need some police chases or people actualy playing the soccer mode(not running over the people in the spawn).

It's an ok mod.....u'll loose interesst soon 'cause of code limitations.....the score on the football map doesn't count, ppl are doing retarded things on it because there are no rules that make 'em actually play football.....
the other conquest maps are nicely done, but i don't know, u get bored really fast.....the gimmicks are great, that UFO rulez....
oh, why dont u try and implement that AAS code from Project Reality, that would make those conquest maps much more fun....

Just press that fancy "community" button in your BF2 menu, select "other games" and activate it.......

Or u can create a link, just copy the link u start bf2 with.....and add these lines to your BF2.exe "+modPath mods/surreal +menu 1 +fullscreen 1"

Keep your panyhose on.....I'll try to clarify without you getting more upset.

Some of the doors you can walk right thru...if theres a step there you may have to hop a little while youre walking forward.

Well to be honest, I'm not in the least bit upset. I would however appreciate it if you could help people without jabbing at them or insulting them, it generally helps to make you more of an appealing person Okay, thanks for the tip about the step.

Theyre's is something weird with starting an undedicated server in this mod.

Heres my problem.

Me and some friends wanted to do some sweet car chases with power slides and such. So I created a server on my home computer the server running on one of my cpu's core the game running on the other. So we jumped into play everything works perfect we've got five people in the server pings rangeing from 1(me) to 50 most of the people running in the 20's. Then person number six hits and the siht hits the fan and ping skyrockets to 700 800 whatever redicuoulsy highn number you want.

I know ur thinking that its the fault of the sixth person who joined well you would be wrong we tested different people using different internet. From different places around the country. This means one of two things either something with this mod is fcuekd dealing with undedicated servers (as we have had 12+ people in other mod servers without ping issues. Or I was having internet issues which i am inclined to doupt because we had another person create a server and we had the same problems.

i've installed it and when i start a single player there are no cars/planes nothing besides boats and the bots just stand there not moving even if i give them an order to .
the only change i see is some of the troops have diffrent volours to their uniforms and the kits names have changed.
i didn;t mention even the endless CTDs' oh and more thin i can;t seem to get the soccer map to run at all it instantly CTD.

id like to get a reply .

The issue is your bandwidth. If you have for example a 256 Kb per second upload rate.... and your players are using 75 Kb per second each....there goes the neighborhood. (dont know exact numbers but you get my drift.)

You being able to host an Internet game has nothing to do with you download bandwidth...its all about your upload bandwidth, Youre "serving" content...ie uploading.

You also count in this numbers game as you are actually leaving your network and coming back in joining from the internet just like everyone else.

Surreal is all comprised of cutom made textures and items which make it unique to BF2, as far as processor power utilized a true dedicated server , ie, 2.8 HT, with 2 gig of ram. will run a 64 player server with absolutely no trouble but then again thats dedicated and on a 10MB ethernet port thats wide open.

Good effort, but it gets really boring quick. We had 7 guys from the 1EU all playuing it and we got bored after 1 map. We had to sit through that soccer map, which wasnt very fun either.

yep u missed something, THEIR IS NO BOTS/AI so i dont know how u load up singleplayer and see boats, lol,
Ai will come later, this due to the custom objects ie custom bridges need to have a COL 3 mesh added,

good to see some postive msgs and only a few negative ones, we at surreal are a very small team.

Just one comment. Uh, they forgot to make a nice START SURREAL icon anywhere. You have an uninstaller, but nothing to start the mod...

I figured it out using my BF2 Project Reality as a template...
