The problem is that the downloads dont come with maplist.con or serversettings.con files. I tried to create them myself, but i still seem to be having some errors. It cannot locate some directories.

in the mods/surreal/settings directory is maplist and serversettings

(if you look in mods/xpack/settings youll see the maplist and serversettings for special forces as an example)

Yer, i realise where they are, but they do not come with the download.
I had a mate download the windows & linux server files, and he could not find the files either.

Regardless, i did recreate them, but it still does not start.

I would love to post examples of errors, but i dont really have any.

Has anyone got this working in Linux yet? (with the latest released files)

Hmmm... i had such high hopes for this mod...
I have only played about 3 maps so far, but it doesn't seem very good...

Don't get me wrong, i take my hat off to the guys for some EXCELLENT vehicles and stuff, but as for the games direction, it just seems a little bland.

I think i was expecting something along the lines of Battleracer, but with planes, through actual checkpoints and things like that, with times, positions, etc...

I think that this mod could have sent itself down the lines of a sorta 'Rock n Roll Racing' sort of mod, but i guess thats just not what its meant to be.

Does anyone think its boring? or will get boring very fast?

Ok ive downloaded the mod and i had a great full first two matches, now every time i load it it will crash to desktop within a minute of joining the server, it happens every time and its making me wanna delete surreal for good. Anyone know how to fix it?

heheh, a change of pace is always nice, i love anything new. had 20 guys in the server last night on the soccer area, what chaos!!! hehe, will be nice when a good organized game gets going, dukes vrs all!!!!!

uncheck your punkbuster option, youll see a few more servers.

Of all the comments I only see one guy with a CTF, thats hardly "buggy". Not that there arnt any, but we arnt happy to try and help anyone with problems. I'm sorry but telling us you get CTD isnt enough info. As with any mod if you have problems try running in a window and tell us if you get an error. We have included a shortcut in the "root" for that purpose. You will most likly need to reduce to 800x600 resolution though. Anyone with problems can send me a pm here or email surrealmod@ntlworld.com. But please include as much info as you can

This mod is great I haven't been able to play it online yet though , just been playing around on an empty server. BTW, I can tell from the map there are vehicles inside buildings, but how on earth do I get at them? The doors don't open
