Well our very own HKSniper is back today with his latest mod review and this time around, it's quite the unique and unexpected mod he chose. The Japanese mod Close Quarters Battle has been around for some time, but due to its foreign development it has managed to slip under the mod news radar. The mod features a ton of new content making it a total new experience from vanilla BF2. Here's a snippet of the review:

CQB is not a well known modification, clouded by the big name modifications that seem to update almost everyday about some new form of content. It is a Japanese modification, obiviously, set in modern Japan. You fight as either the Japanese Self Defense Force or some Terrorist organization who obiviously has some bone to pick with the Japanese. Gameplay is aimed at close quarters combat in urban situations, placing you in a few new maps, such as a sewer underground, a city street, or in a sprawling dockyard. Lastly there is a large maze like map, designed after SWAT and Counter Terrorist training facilities.
The maps are aimed to match the name of the modification, expect some serious close fighting with this modification. The maps are very well made and there is obivious talent in the map designers. The only map I did not enjoy, however, was the underground sewer map. Everything seemed so cramped and there was not a lot of new content to be found. It would be great for some close fighting, but it seemed rather bland.
