from what i understand that using any content from sf,af and ef is totally off limits....dice and ea are a game dev company dont forget,they reserve the rights to their content,and when you install it you accept an agreement not to redistribute sf,af and ef content,which really means its a no go to add any or all content from expacks to a mod.
but its ok if you make custom nvg's,zipline,flashbang,gasmask and grapling hook.
if sf,af and ef are expacks which are mods in actual fact the vanilla bf2 engine can run those gadgets,so custom gadgets are ok to use.
its pretty obvious from a modders point of view we have to use some of the sf gadgets .tweaks and .cons as a guidline for creating those custom gadgets,so some mods may remake gadgets and may appear as if its actually an sf gadget,all cuz of hardcoding.
i am only saying this cuz i would hate to say any mod team get into trouble over use of expack content.

on a side note,"21cw australian allied forces" and "australian forces" mods are 2 different dev teams.(for those who are confused)...lol

I still don't quite understand... so, they did get permission from EA, and only for certain things? Is there a list somewhere?
Oh, and how the feck did they get permission from the almighty EA(if I'm reading you correctly; and indeed they did)???

Someone said the 1.4 patch was 2 months away. The next AAF release should hopefully be within the next month.

Well seeing that the mod is used for their tournament, they said they have 5 more weeks in #2 and Campaign #3 would start soon after. I'd imagine sometime near the end of #2 or it would be ready for #3

i know 21cw keeps a list... and i am sure 21cw aaf follows those guidelines

21cw is a compilation of whats in other mods ... with their specific permissions :) its not built as its own and should not be portrayed that way.
It made strickly for the tournament .... as do all the others

if you're interested in SF this is the tournament you want http://www.21stcenturyspecialforces.com/ but that requires SF to play .. its also a 21CW one :)

I'm interested in EA's position on redistribution of content from the Special Forces expansion. Or have you specifically been given permission?
