Eve of Destruction Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Eve of Destruction mod website. They are back with a new article on the mod as well as some new in game shots. Take a look:

Hi, your friendly Vietnam war reporter LordLemos here. Just to let you know, I'm currently in Vietnam, tracking down intel on the up and coming battle "Eve of Destruction". I dont know, I like the mod but to me your player models look weak, like they cant bench more that 100 pounds.

no looking at cobra pilot, and all the other up-dates I have seen, they dont look like they went through boot, the look like they just got out of fat camp.

Our character models are all custom models. They do not prescribe to the Vanilla BF2 size models.. BF2 from EA contains 2 soldiers.. Heavy and Light.

We actually have several different character models. In fact, 8 totally different soldiers. Not every soldier in Vietnam looks like "Rambo" or "Animal Mother". In fact, soldiers were of many different sizes. My uncles both served in Vietnam. One of them only weighed in at 130lbs and was 5'5". He got to be the one who was always sent down in the tunnels with a 45 and a flashlight.. The other was a lean 150lbs and 5'8" but, those are stories for another day.

Most aviators in Vietnam were also not big heavy tall bulked up muscle dudes. Cockpits of aircraft are small and tight when one get all their gear on. I think they look great, but its also my mod. You can think what you want. You are entitled to your opinion...Just don't expect us to be changing anything.

In regards to our NVA and VC Soldiers. They are actually slightly smaller than the US Soldiers. We are trying to be somewhat acurate in our depiction of the character models. I think we are doing a pretty darn good job for all of this to be made from scratch.

well ****, I know ALOT of kids in early highschool who but them to shame, I mean I was 150 lbs by 16, by 18 (draft age) I was 200

snipers you a are a fat fat man... The models looks great, they look realistic, how big do you think the bf2 models are? If they had shortsleeves they would look much like this. I don't know if you know about soldiers today but I know a bunch, and they are not meat heads. They are toned and look in shape, but they do not all look like the Hulk.

I'm 6'3 so I'm not really fat, just alittle tall and built, I just think they look like whimps, the only skinny no build people I personally know in the military are tankers.

I was a big EoD fan back when I was playing BF:V, so I look farward to this release!! Keep up the good work guys!

I can't wait for this mod, I loved the bf1942 version and I'm sure I will like this.
