  • TotalBF2 Upgrading to vBulletin 3.6

TotalBF2.com is in preparation for a massive upgrade to vBulletin v3.6. This has many great new features for Administrators/Moderators and the End-User., you can see many of the new features in this thread.

The main reason why I am posting this is there is possibility and already has happened a few times of noticeable server slow downs and even possible server outages during the early morning hours (2am-6am EST) due to the sheer size of the current database. We are working to keep this to a minimum while we prep and test the current site with the new version of vBulletin.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.

Note: We hope to have the update done by the end of the week/start of next week.

              I'm excited.

...wow I just read over the options, here are some of my personal favorites:

              -Signature Permissions per User Group
              -Multi-Quote
              -Automatically Remove Thread Redirects

              sounds like fun.

Same server The tournament sites are on this server too. It's amazing how much optimizing the server will do. This site used to need it's own server but after alot of configuration (mainly adding thttpd for images) has helped. Serverload is better then most webservers I have seen

Seems like a nice update from what I've read.
Looking forward to this, and wishing the ones involved good luck with the transition phase

I like the multi-quote feature, that'll save a lot of copy/pasting and editing

The gold version release isn't out yet. Are you going to be installing the Release Candidate 1? That's completely unsupported and has not yet been declared stable :/
