Allied Intent Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Allied Intent mod website. They have some more info and screens about their upcoming .2 release. Take a look:

First, please visit our German friends at bf-games.net for new images and info on .2, for the text you'll need a translator. Next, head to our Swedish friends at bf2.se for some more new images on the .2 release coming in the 2nd week of July.

Mod looks great, especially the mortar! Only thing I'm questioning is why there is an F-16 on an LHD ?

I'd be more interested in this mod if the name wasn't absolutely awful. Screenies look nice enough, though.

Just a bit of trivia - the name Allied Intent comes from the Acronym A.I (as in the bots in the game) The reason for the Acronym is that we all have a strong sympathy towards the lacklustre single player portion that Dice included in the game, and have sought to really enhance the bots and maps in such a way that the game is more of a challenge. Not only for the online coop and multiplayer community, but also for the dial-uppers who didn't quite get the game they were expecting. Thats why Allied Intent will always release full 64 map bot support with enhanced AI behaviours.

So now you see "what's in a name."

We're a very small mod team with 5 active members and we pretty much get to put in the stuff that we like. We're certainly don't focus on realism... we make changes that we think are fun, which is what the game is all about at the end of the day. The F-16 may look out of place on a carrier, but who cares when you get to rain death with it all day :)

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think that's a good enough reason to use such an abysmal name. I mean, it's not even immediately obvious that Allied Intent stands for anything - it's trivia, as you yourself just said. If you want to go for that idea, maybe change your name to A.I.: Allied Intent or something.

The problem I have with "Allied Intent" is that it's just so dry, and it implies action, possibly, in the future; the Allies intend to attack, but who knows?

Ah well, can't please everyone, but I appreciate the feedback. It's the content and gameplay that's important to us and we just hope all our countless hours of hard work, development and unique ideas give the community a little fun. :)

Im the same. The mod looks great and I love the Blackhawk at Karkand if that is Karkand. But wats an F-16 doing on a carrier? Their land based fighters.
