Nope, here's your link. But I doubt you'll believe it because it didn't come from cBS. I guess we should tell the Iraqis we made a mistake in liberating them, remove the elected leadership, and put Saddam the dictator back in place. We can all keep theorizing what the motivation for the Iraq war was, but it doesn't really matter now does it? All we're doing is Monday morning quarterbacking like we could've done a better job. I think it's absolutely hilarious a bunch of computer gamers think they can run the country better.

Historically, American Presidents have not given the American people the benefit of the doubt. They think they're acting in the best interest of the country by lying because they think we don't know any better.

I guess i would generally agree with that. What i was saying is that in the past, presidents didn't have to worry about every single word that came out of thier mouths, because they weren't being recorded. Thus we more often got a more accurate picture from them when they WERE recorded.

In modern society every single utterance must be absolutely composed, and given the public's short attention span, or the perception of it as such, a president has had to generate these sound-bytafiable explainations, like "WMDs!" and "Terrorists!" to a degree unprecedented in American history.

The presidency has become commercialized, where propoganda experts craft everything from speeches to the names of our military operations (We go from "Operation Overlord" in WW2 to "Operation Enduring Freedom" and the ilk of today). Facts are the latest casualty of this commercializement, but you're absolutely right, lying didn't start with G.W. Bush.

Run the country better than some moron who got C's in collage, did some copious ammounts of coke, and drunk an unbelieveably large ammount of liquor. Yeah I think I could have done the job better, just because I play computer games doesnt mean anything about my ability to think logically and make good decisions. It's a hobby just like tennis, and music.

On the other hand I'm sure the Iraqis are totally stoked about being liberated, theyre completely free to walk down the street and get smacked by a car bomb. Or if some insurgent takes a pop shot at an american while standing in front of their house they might just have the freedom to get shot by an angry american.

Why is it important to find out what peoples reason for going to war was??? So the people who lied to the country and are responsible for the deaths of thousands of americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis can be brought to justice.

Every president who has sent troops to war is ultimately responsible for the deaths of soldiers in combat. Are we going to prosecute them too? Our soldiers are not pressed into service like other countries. We still have a volunteer military and the guys I know who are serving are damned proud of the job they do. They get sick of hearing guys like you painting them like helpless victims and/or criminals. They've chosen their role and are proud to serve.

not true! if Bush cares about liberating the oppressed people then he could also go to countless other countries like the very poor ones in Africa. He does not care if the Iraqis are free or not.... and they are not free now BTW. They are even afraid of going out of their homes because Bush created a magnet that attracted every single aggressor to Iraq.... as if the Iraqis did not have enough.

I like the reference to the majority of the country not agreeing that Bush is doing poorly, especially when Bush's approval rating is hovering around at a whopping 30% or so. Even more so since what little boost it did get is mostly from the killing of Zarqawi (spelling?), despite the fact he was almost no threat at all until we invaded Iraq and since Bush had no hand in the strike...

Death is tragic, but is part of what happens in war. Unfortunately it takes risking life in order to gain democracy in almost every case. Many many Americans died in our own Revolutionary War when we gained our independence from England. Many have given their lives fighting for our own freedom and the freedom of others throughout history. You cannot say Bush does not care about the freedom of the Iraqis because he hasn't liberated every oppressed person in the world. That's a ridiculous argument. :laugh: I wish we had enough allies to help the people in Africa, but we do not. Maybe someday the rest of the world will want to help oppressed people too and chip in by committing troops to back up their promises.

The insurgents are opposed to the Iraqi people having representative government so of course they're going to attack with all they have. Does that mean the Iraqis are supposed to quit? What do you propose we do? Say oops democracy is a bad idea because people who are opposed are attacking? I would like to know what your solution is for Iraq. So far all I've heard from you side is essentially leaving and letting the Iraqis try to fend for themselves against those who are suicide bombing them and trying to throw their attempt at democracy off track.

As far as Syria, I think that's where Saddam sent the majority of the weapons. Even the UN and the Clinton administration acknowledged that Saddam has WMDs, but you forgot that, huh. And for the record, helping a country establish their own elected government isn't aggression.

Lastly, who does the polls on Bush's approval ratings? You guessed it . . . liberal media. Like they're going to allow anything Bush does to be shown as good. But I don't care who I play BF2 with. As long as they can shoot straight and support a squad.
