    Conflict Canada Mod Update

The team behind the Conflict Canada mod are back today with a new media update for us all. Here's what they had to say:
First up is a model by Sarge. This is a model of the C8A2 Special Ops Weapon. It will be given to the spec ops class for the Canadian team. This weapon is comparable to the M4 and has similar accuracy and power. We will be sure to show everyone the skinned version when it is complete.

The second weapon to be shown today is the C9A1. The C9 was modeled by Sarge. It is comparable to the United States M249 SAW but the Canadian equivalent features an ELCAN scope. This weapon will be given to the Canadian support class. The skinned version will appear in a later release.

The following is a really nice model done by Klone. This is the Griffon helicopter. It will be equipped with C6 heavy machine guns on either side for door gunning. This type of helicopter is the main helicopter used by the Canadians and will appear often in our maps.

                  Re: Conflict Canada Mod Update

Looks sweet, but it looks to me that those weapons have too many poly's used. What are the number of poly's for that SpecOps gun?
p.s.: I don't know much about modelling, but it's kind of obvious that it's a little too much.

Great models though, I love 'em. You guys should merge ttogether with Australian Forces mod, it would be even better. plus you kind of have the same ideas.

They are fairly high poly models. We may have to tone them back a bit you are right but we will see how it goes.

                              Re: Conflict Canada Mod Update

Poly = Polygon. But in 3D Graphics World it's basicly what the objects are made out of - Polygons. It's called Polygonal Modelling. Here, I found a Wiki explanation of it.

Ex.: 1) When an object has uneven surfaces and is all bumpy etc. it means that it's a "low poly" model.
                              2) When an object looks like the weapons created by Conflict Canada, it has very smooth surfaces, than it's called a "high poly" model.
                              3) Very high poly objects decrease performance, that's why it's improtant to stay in an optimal range.

                              Low Poly vs. High Poly

                              p.s.: Hope that helps. :)
