I could really give a damn about the new content as well , I would rather have the game play right before they throw in more new ****. cant wait for QW to come out.If id ****s that game up worse then bf then we should just give up on pc gaming after that

Looking back at their patch history, how can anybody trust those idiots at DICE to release a decent patch? EA/DICE have ruined the bf series with their crappy support and their greed. Ones the MODs are available, it will be the END of original bf2 and the rest of their crappy expansion packs.
MODs > original bf2
Quake wars > bf2142
Kaos studio (former DC creators) > EA/DICE

and. for the patch. EVERYONE SHOULD BE HAPPY!!!!! their giving you new content, which you asked for, and fixing the crashes. NOW. dont complain and REJOISE.

Considering the track record EA/Dice have had with their patching, I don't blame anyone here for being skeptical about this next patch.

Like MC_Frank, I don't much care about new content. I want the game to work first, then they can go crazy with new content.

other then the "open beta" in july part... this is great news.. good that a new free map the fixing of unlocks to unranked you made me happy, and the fixing of ctd also great to hear..

need to make it sooner and why a public beta of a patch? dont you pay people to do that?

You people complain to much do I need to mention that DICE could just say F%^$ Em! and not release another patch, and instead just work on 2142 cause seriously you people say you wont buy the game till they fix BF2, but we all know you will and so does DICE. (Sorry for the bad grammer.)

Now that a futuristic BF2 style FPS is coming out from a good game development studio (see Quake Wars) there's no reason to buy DICE's shoddy products. Once again...bring on Quake Wars. Until then, bring out a bloody patch :)

Open Beta is pretty cool. I'm glad they're going to start doing this.

Hopefully the new map will be good. Too bad they didn't mention anything about the new game mode rumored to be in the next patch.

EA/Dice are starting to get the point, i dont know if they saw how the comunity was reacting to all the problems and money leeching, or if it s just to make us happy enough to buy 2142, either way, they are doing the right thing now and i think some ppl around here should not be so negative, some guys a week ago would say they wanted them to do this, and now that they are doing it those same guys bitch about something else...


things like this are making me believe again in them, now is just wait to see how this turns out.

btw free content is allways welcome and i hope those booster packs will be the last ever in BF games.

Wow, EA/Dice has somewhat redeemed themselves. Could it be that they are finally getting the message from the community? I hope they follow through with everything. I'm going to keep an optimistic attitude.
