I heard EA was going to sell future boxes of BF2 and include EF & AF as part of the purchase price of $50. Those who already have BF2 are getting hosed...we'll end up paying $70. You would think those who purchased the existing game could get it for free...BUT NO.

I NEVER had BF2 crashes, now with armored fury it crashes constantly.

EA ...fix it or give me my money back.

I still don't get what you people are talking about?? I run a sub-par machine and BF2 runs fine with no crashes...what kind of system are you running??

Bf2 is a memory hog, and not very effecient. I am going to play Armored Fury one day. I have bought and installed it, updated punk buster, but it CTD every time a map loads.

Insert CD messages means the installer can't find a file. This happened to me because Norton quartined the Gamespy Arcade installer bundled with SF as spyware. That problem has since been fixed. You can try to redownload, or check your virus scanner to see if it has quartined the file, or contact me directly via PM and I will try to help you out.

Disregard the PM. Thanks of your help. With your help I was able to get it to work. It was my nortons like you said. They had my gamespy arcade quartined those bas*erds lol. Now you helped me more than EA support crap did. How much do i owe you. 10 dollars you say. Sorry I spent it on Armored Fury. I have another question. How woud I save a game I bought online being that i dont have a CD to intall it on my new formated computer.
Should i save that cache folder on disk?

OK I bought it. Still can say if its good or not cuz i cant find a sever with peps in them. But ill try again tommorw 2:30am here and I have to be up for work in 3 hours. But i have to say i fell like im getting this crazy urge to buy Battlefield 2142. I can not explain it As if subliminal message were put in the game. Somthing is saying "BUY BATTLEFIELD 2142"

I downloaded AF & installed it last night and played for a couple of hours. No problems to speak of. The maps are great. I have seen others complaining here and there about lag & crashes. My suggestions:

Crashes:

1. Don't get carried away installing every other BF2 mod you get your hands on. Some contain bugs that corrupt your BF2 install.
2. Check to make sure a mod puts it's files in the ...\mods directory versus overwriting the folders used by EA. Some of them mess up the EA install.
3. Back-up your system before installing any mod.
4. Read about a mod before you install it. Are others having issues?

So far I'm batting 1000 in BF2 with no crashes. Follow these rules of thumb and you should be Ok. If you hack/crack and install crappy mod code you'll pay the price.

Lag: Upgrade or tune your hardware...or get a faster box. Below is a boiler plate box I built just before BF2 was released. All graphics settings are maxed out...no issues.
