I know its frustrating not being able to play, and we've had people with similar problems on our forums. However, after following the instructions below, and allowing time for the servers to update to the USI hotfix, most players are now able to happily join a game.

as has been mentioned, make sure you have BF1.3, USI 0.1 + the USI 0.11 Hotfix, are running your terrain settings on medium or above and are attempting to join a server running USI 0.11.

By the sounds of it, Bill, you are already doing this and its a puzzle. I did read somewhere that a player who kept getting CTDs reinstalled the full 1.3 patch, then USI, then the Hotfix and it sorted his problem (must have fixed a dodgy BF patch install) Out of interest, are you able to join vanilla BF games online?

Nothing here is a USI problem, the CTD happens in vanilla just as much.

Hey im new to mods wich one is client and server and do i need dload anything else to get this mod?

Oh and were do i dload it to ive never used mods before and do i unzip it and put it in the specific folder?

Download the 840meg 0.1 full install and the 10meg 0.11 hotfix.
Then unzip the full install with Winrar and double-click the installer EXE.
The installer will start and give you the option to create a desktop icon if you like.
After installing 0.1, install the 0.11 hotfix and join a server :p

I dont think its a vanilla problem, I almost never CTD with vanilla, and this was consatant. My friend fixed his issue by reinstalling 1.3

He Tried it without doing the incremental install, it worked fine. Then I tried the same reinstall, and it worked for me too. It might just be certain systems need the full 1.3, but I have no idea why. Anyways mine is working fine now, and for whatever reason that trick worked perfect for some of us.

If all else seems to fail, it will probably work for you.

This is a good mod but still has a lot of work. Very Unblanced IMO. I quit playing BF2 a month ago but figure what the heck. For some odd reason and M1 would kill a T72 with one shot but with the T72 it takes forever to kill an M1. This is just my opinion as I seen it in game. Other than that its a good mod..

My problem is a USI problem, I have no problems running BF2 at all. It's only USI that won't work for me. I haven't tried any other mods though. It loads fine and crashes the moment I hit the join button.

My terrian settings are on medium, I was playing the game fine previously.

BF2 vanilla works fine. SF, and Euro works fine.

USI .1 worked fine.

USI .11 crashes.


Ya, im not really digg'n this "no uh... it works fine" argument. I love your mod to death, but ill just wait till this is sorted.

Make sure your terrain is set to medium and youre playing on a server running BF2 1.3 and USI 0.11.

Its working as of now with no changes. Don't know why but I hope it stays. I've logged on twice in a row with multiple map changes on the FMJ server.

Thats bc you were trying to join un-updated servers before. FMJ is confirmed as being updated, so if you stick to confirmed updated servers you'll be fine forever. If you try to load on ones that aren't updated, you will crash every single time, no questions asked.

i never got a desktop icon
and i never get ctd on bf2. and i have everthing on low besides one thing and thats on high.

Thats bc you were trying to join un-updated servers before. FMJ is confirmed as being updated, so if you stick to confirmed updated servers you'll be fine forever. If you try to load on ones that aren't updated, you will crash every single time, no questions asked.

Not that it matters, but if you read my other post I could not connect to the updated servers either, that did include FMJ.
