This probably DOES mean that ASE will work again...too bad I'm already hooked on QTracker So it'll probably break the QTracker version that was updated on the 23rd. The author will probably update it today. He's great!

Also, it'll probably re-break the G15 applet that was updated today

    Ah well...

Now, they don't tell you exactly where the hosts file is, but if you had a brain and did a little bit of research (google.com yet again) you'd find your hosts file in: (windows xp)

            c:\windows\system32\drivers\hosts

open that file with your notepad, and delete anything related to bf2. I had two different servers and deleting one didn't fix the problem but deleting both did.

Of course it'll be delayed. :hmm:

I guess all the crying we do gets heard.

                Badonkadonk try this instead: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Thanks for keeping us all up to date with EA and Dice new patch. However, I do feel somewhat sorry for EA as they are only the publisher of this game and not the maker.

This will get someone back up.

Well, it's past the time the fix was supposed to take place, and it still doesn't appear to be working. Maybe they meant 2:00 AM tonight.

Ya know, when you realise there is a problem, the best thing to do is say, "Hey, we realise there is an issue, we're working on it, and we hope to have it back in working order as soon as possible."

Leaving the community in the dark for 2 days is HORRIBLE customer service =\

Query port still messed up. Port 29900 used to be the port but doesn't work anymore.

we believe that a last minute update in the way the Battlefield servers and Gamespy servers communicate may be the cause.
So last minute means they were making changes to the code just before releaseing the patch? Are you f$#%king kidding me?

                            EA, please repeat after me:
                            1. Code changes
                            2. Send to testers for extensive QA
                            3. Did you skip #2? Bad Bad EA! Now go do step 2.
                            4. Hey, did you skip over 2 and 3? Bad Bad Bad EA. Drop a small paper weight on your crotch, and really complete step 2.
                            5. Ok, ok, now you can release the patch to the public... you really did step 2... right?????????

Its very refreshing to see that EA/Dice is listening to the community and has responded this fast!

                              Kudos to them.

EA was once Dice's publisher, but now EA owns Dice. They are now the parent and controlling company and hold all responsibility for directing, evaluating and managing Dice. Please repeat 100 times until clear.
