Battleracer v1.22 Released

There is a new update posted today over at the Battleracer mod website. Version 1.22 has been released making the mod compatible with the 1.3 BF2 patch. Here's what they had to say:

Battleracer 1.22 is available in a small patch in the form of a .zip file. Simply extract it to your Battlefield 2/mods directory. Installation process is the same for servers as well.

Change log:
* Fully compatible with BF2 1.3
* Headlights in night tracks shine farther
* Fixed bug not allowing servers to have weapons turned off
* Weapons are disabled when 1st place racer crosses the finish line
* Reduced spawn time from 15 seconds to 5
* Vehicle change penalty is now more strict
* Changed minimap icon for checkpoints
* Simplified spawn screen

Also, I (finally) added search functionality to the stats pages. You can search for a person's name or Gamespy ID. Queries must be at least 3 characters long.

Yes... this is good... Project Reality was crashing like crazy for me earlier.. Hopefully Battleracer won't tonight now! Good work guys.

just installed, games starts up but crashes to desktop before even logging in...

EDIT: i did the installation wrong but when ive done it correctly again i ctd after the map loads.... also the standard bf2 background vid is on the logon screen, is that supposed to be like that?

It probably is... I have no vanilla videos deleted, and nothing shows up... must be default!

Dammit... It would seem that either my Battleracer is immediately crapped up, or no servers have yet changed version. Darn.

there are servers running the new version, or at least i could see some but maybe mine didnt update properly... who knows..?

Put them in your C://Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/Mods/Battleracer

...that should be right.

This game is full of surprising fun. Woot I can have a laugh again now, thank you guys.
Oh and much as there are morons who like to block the road. It's just so funny, wait... it's hilarious. You see them desperatly hassling about with jeeps blocking the road. One race I just watch and looked the idiots lmao.
But I killed them with the cool throwing knives and kept the road free. Then all of sudden there was an all out war with throwing knifes with squads and stuff. LMFAO this mod is class.
Oh and this quick spawning is gonna make knife fights mayhem LMAO.
And every round there are some mec guys coming to the finish. With the no kit hands free thing. Is this mod meant to spontaniously make you laugh in tears ? =) Jumping around as a clown, they can't get killed after the race starts. LOL

just an FYI, I like this mod and it can be enjoyable, but every single server I have been to so far is nothing but a massive car pile up/knifing at 50FT.

I'd suggest getting rid of the silly 50ft knife ability, and reduce the spawned vehicles down by over half.

As it is now, everyone blocks the roads with as many vehicle as possible and tries to knife you as you drive by. After trying several servers that even had admin(who were also doing this silly stuff) I got over it.

I love the mod/idea, but due to smacktards the game looses its fun factor. Keep it up though, this type of mod has massive potential :)

This mod is extremely fun and great to play! Smacktards in some servers are the only let down as mentioned above, but it isn't hard to find a server without them.

Great changes with the patch, especially the increased headlight distance (were pretty much useless previously) and the ability to turn off weapons.

I cant get this mod to work, I'm not crashing, there are just NO maps in single or mp. All the folders and files seem in order there is a levels folder they just dont display ingame. Also no servers display in server list. ???????? So I can NOT start either a single player, LAN or MP game.
