Well I really like the patch cuz I duno it feels like the game got harder but funner too. With this vehicle dropping, we HAVE to defend our back flags or were gona end up with noe behind us and get pounded both sides lol. Anyways besides the fact that my mike dosent work now (fix that plz) I love it 9.5/10!! Good job EA no crashes!!

You might have downloaded a corrupted patch file. Try downloading the patch from a different location.

i recommend to all of you that have server browser problems as me, to add some servers to favourites, that way you will not lose sight of them so easily when you click a few times to check ping (thats how i check it since they've geniusly disabled ASE and similar appz support).

Hey there are still unpatched servers out there (smart)... Do a roll back defrag your harddrive. Maybe ole shifty c'ya...

The same problem i been having. dont even try to get an older patch to fix it cuz it wont work. I was up all night looking for 1.22 full. And what ever 1.3 did to my game has the same efect on older patches. Im going to try to uninstall bf2 then patch it with 1.33 full to see if that works. if not then im going to unintall it again them put patch 1.22 full. Ill be back to post any results.

here is what i have already done.
1. Apply the 1.3 increment again
2. I downloaded the patch 1.3 full (if you have a slow connetion dont wast your time)
3. I updated my ATI grafic card with the latest drivers.
4. I updated My Punkbuster
5. You cant install patch 1.21 to1.22 increment cuz i was patched with 1.3 and you get an error saying you need patch 1.21. So you need patch 1.22 full. (if you have a slow connetion dont wast your time)

None of the above worked so far.

I love the amount of people just now posting, or making a account here, to do the EA hate thing. It's actually DICE that develops it. Even though EA bought them, they are still the programmers...

There's a lot of 1 posters...this should be a heads up....Let's get it going DICE.

hmm. must mean me. i read this forum and had this page as my favorite
since BF2 was released.
just did not have anything to say up till patch 1.2
cause I tried to give EA the opportunity to change my view on them.
but i had to contact the EA support 2 times (not only with BF2) and now
I know why this EA bashing isn't only just for fun. It's really real.
they really suck. i cant say anything else. i worked for big companies
and they all have trouble keeping customers happy and giving everyone
the needed info and help but what EA did to me was just plain sick and
ignorant.

and about DICE/EA. as i understand it, they cut down the development team, another daughter company is in charge of BF2 (not the original programmers)
and the "old" team (in an truncated form) is working on BF2142.

apart from that:
What did help me with BF2 and other games who seem to eat resources for breakfast
is install a little tool originally developed for ms flight simulator which you can configure
to stop all windows processes not needed b4 starting the game (e.g. explorer.exe)
and then automatically start them up again after you exit the game:
it's called fsautostart

this did give me 10frames more on X3-Reunion or F.E.A.R.
Bf2 i did not check but i have it running and it is not interfering.
But use with caution -> not supported

I did what i did not want to do in the fist place. I uninstalled bf2 and intalled it again. I first check to see if it was working. Then I patch it with 1.3. And now it works. I was able to get online and go in a room. Who the hell know why it did not work for me the fist time. Mybe cuz i have to many mods installed? I dont know. All I know is i was able to vent this problem on this forum and fix it my self. All patchs had problemes but i did not care. As long as i was able to paly the game, I would of delt with the problems. But when EA puts a patch out that dose not let me play the game. Then Houston we have a problem. Not to mention that i took off from work to fix this problem. Now im going to play. I will be killing you all online soon.

Ever since patch 1.2, a lot of BF2 players had extreme lag at any (and I emphasize any) setting, the lowest of the lowest setting on even some Alienware PCs. I have an XPS and I'm still lagging even with 1.22.

Yep but I only recall having this problem since v1.21. Im pretty sure that 1.2 was fine and smooth for me.

Can anyone tell me whether there are any or plenty of ranked servers left hosting version 1.2?

If so I'm going back.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice... Anyone else have this problem with the server browser?
Click on a server and the ping either goes to 0 or goes to some random insane number and then disappears. EVERY server does it for me.

Yes, same here! Also, the map loading screen has the same bug from the initial version of the game where the server IP is listd as 0:0. How am I supposed to tell my friends the server IP to join if I can't see it??? What once was old is new again. Other than that, I love the vehicle drops. Good stuff.

I just spent 15 minutes trying to get into a special forces server with the screwed up browser. Every time I click on a server in changes to a different one.5, 6, 7 times and the server I want keeps jumping around. Then I finally say screw it and take what ever it gives me and when it starts loading it's a completely different map and server. This is sick, it's impossible to join the game you want. I really haven't had any problems with any of the other patches. So I don't know if I should reinstall or go with the full patch. Guess I'll give it a shot later.
