Actually, the weapons are more accurate as in BF2.
And they do more damage, plus we have projectile classes (bf2 doesnt).

SO if you want this or that weapon to be changed, apply as a coder.
We do not have anyone who can take care of every single weapon and kit balance.
We've asked for help with coding weapons so many times, so don complain about that.
We could bring back BF2 weapon tweaks but this would suck tbh

            Re: US Intervention v0.1 Released

Tried a few maps last night. It was fun but i was disapointed. Especially when eveyone said this was the mod to look out for. I personaly thought peackeeper mod was more fun and i thought it paid more attention to detail.

This isnt a rant and im not being insulting, there are just a few disapointments. Yes it is only the 0.1v.

Maps looked like some one just threw a bunch of things on the map, with no real planning. THings dont look like they belong there.

Building/objects are placed on the ground but no attention to ground texture is paid. There is no worn look around the buildings. Also on some roads the road texture doesnt blend in with the off road texture, even divided by a visual line in the texture.

No new weapsons. Well there are a few but, just changing sounds and gun stats doesnt classify a full mod. IMO

More attention was paid to vehicles, some of which work very well. Some good ideas. I think the vehicles are a little bland looking maybe need some better skins. Models are good though.

In the end it is only the first release of a free mod that i no doubt will play more of. I wouldnt classify this as a full mod though. It feels more like a patch/upgrade that gives us some vehicles and maps that need alot of work.

Not saying i could do any better. I think i was spoiled by all the great mods for 1942. This could turn into a really great mod, but as for now im sticking with OPK. They gave me more of what i wanted out of a mod. Some thing that looks and feels different but is fun and well thought out.

Maybe im missing some things, ill play some more USI tonight. These are just my first thoughts. Maybe my mind will change.

                Re: US Intervention v0.1 Released

My review was aimed towards the perspective I received from playing it for about 7 hours. I was not saying that we needed more power for infantry troops.

The problem is that any form of infantry combat is quite neglected. It's basically infantry versus vehicles, and some of the infantry-specific classes need a boost in power to compensate (snipers specifically). It's VERY hard to code these sorts of things in the custom editor that DICE released because there really is no explanantion on these sorts of items. They'll generally give tutorials on setting up objects, creating maps, and maybe a few events here and there - but the interior coding segments have to be custom-done, and I can see why Wolfi & his staff struggled in that department.

If the aim of this mod was primarily vehicular combat, then props to them. If the aim was to create a "battlefield" mod, then they just need to do some tweaks to the infantry to patch things up. When I think of a Battlefield 2 mod, I still think of the capabilities of infantry, vehicles, and air troops to attack each other. This mod accomplished that with giving engineers AA lock-on stingers, and what not. However, just give a few tweaks or at least "motivations" to play the sniper, assault, or spec ops class - or just remove them all together.

I remember playing a round with about 30 players in a server, and not one person scored a single point as a medic, assault, sniper, or spec ops. Everyone was either an engineer, anti-tank, or support due to so much armor.

You're right though; I did enjoy Road of Destruction. One of the few armor maps I loved due to the varying landscape and awesome design. I'd put that up there with the Docks & Basrah & Burning Oilfields as the four best maps.

I love this mod... The hand-held AA missiles, the RPG-7, the vehicles...

Still there is one thing I don't understand: Many times, the infantry weapons simply don't work for me... I shoot, I see blood, but there is no effect and the bullets are replenished instantly, and the same is true for all players on the server. Also, if we are shooting at each other, the other guy does not show a shooting animation... There is no such problem for vehicles. Is this a bug or the fault of the server?

NinjaServe.org is now hosting this mod. You're all invited to stop by. If there's anything the server needs (like a setting changed), swing by our forums and make a post. We'll take care of it. If we get a good amount of players on we will raise the player slots for you all. Enjoy!

I just gotta say it took me a while to realize it, But DAMN THIS MOD IS GOOD!!!

what I like the most is the sounds of´all the weapons and vehicles etc they just sound so Brutal and Realistic.

                      Way To Go!

BTW, I really dont understand why some say the guns are inaccurate and harmless, I just played Bashra City and I could get like 6-10 kills before i died.......And those sounds just make you wanna fire of the whole clip!!!

Wow great mod! I love the Laser guided for the pilot in the apaches, they let you own so well. And also, the Spec-ops M4 rifle has been made a lot better, and it sounds better aswell, the same goes for the silenced pitol sounds, vvery nice, ive still got to play some more since i only played for 30 minutes. The only thing wrong about it so far is the sniper rifles accuracy, its worse than shooting a support gun from the same range. Its about 2 meteres of your crosshair on average. apart from that great mod!

Snipers ruin a good game, leave them the way they are, lol.

Seriously, join the fight men, leave your sniper rifles at home.

The only real annoyance I've encountered is on the map (I really can't remember the name, sorry) with all the refinery towers, with the flames, that when you fly the F-16 or MiG 29, and any of the AA, they continuously lock onto all the towers, and it is hard to tell right away if you're locked onto an enemy or an oil tower in the distance. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I just thought it should be brought to your attention.

lol i wouldnt say they ruin a game, if there are to many of them it gets a bit annoying ,but i think they (if used properly) add a bit of tactics to the game.
