      Re: US Intervention v0.1 Released

It's a very promising first version. My main concern is the mod seems too focused in planes and helis, to survive more than 1 minute as tanker is only for heroes, I think you need to develope good static and mobile AA.

Also some maps need bleed, in the big desertic map is pointless to take flags, like in Basrah. Basrah also derails easily in ugly spawnrapings of american base, the spawns need cover and more spread.

In the closed beta I also noticed the AT weapons killed enemy at point blank range but didn't killed the operator, also the aiming time of AT handweapons was too fast, I don' know if you changed this in the release though

Its fun to play though. :)

The exception to that is Capture The Flag, some of the El Alamein CTF matches I played in BF42 and DC were incredibly intense, and most important of all FUN.

BF2Arena is in affilations with Incognito Gaming which will have one or two US East Coast and West Based Servers for the USI mod.

Check out Front page for upcoming news relating this server. We expect it to be going up in the next day or so.

            Cheers,

                Thanks a lot titus.

Charlesbian, are you extracting the files to a folder then installing or are you just running the exe from the rar? Putting it in a folder first, then install

Well... i downloaded it. and i have a couple things to say just to add my two cents worth. This has been the first mod i have ever downloaded. And it is done very nicely. Great attention to detail even down to the nav lights on the a10. and i am in love with the sound effects you guys used. EA...you could learn a thing or two from USI team. But for some reason it doesn’t feel the good to me. And i know i may be flamed for this but it doesn’t feel as refined as Euro Forces did(comparing expansion mods) I know this is there first release and im sure you guys will only improve as time goes on. But I know im going to be buying Armored Fury and I think im going to like it better than any other mod out there. I know a lot of you love the mods and have been waiting forever for them. My post isn’t meant to bash them and there hard work. I just think EA still releases great stuff all be it a little buggy at times. But it just feels right when I play it. Thats all

Played tonight and had a good time. Maps have too many flags even for 64 players but some are very nice. As lobo mentioed there is some major balance issues going on with the air power. Good job for .1, looking forward to future versions.

Mod is pretty good, love the sounds and the maps, except that burning oil fields one. I was playing tonight and was observing one of your devs UH60pilot, crying about some other guy on the pub that was flying the A10 a lot. (he seemed to be doing well in the a10 also) Then he starts saying "**** you so and so in global" and then standing in front purposely, getting ran over and punishing several times. Never would think you guys would have such an immature guy on the dev team promoting the game.

maybe your just saying that because you dont have to spend that long downloading when a whole day before you got to play there were 20 people in GERMANY playing the mod. you really know though that there are thousands of americans who want to play it but USI had to do it through germany
Actually I'm in Ohio, so no I don't have the download finished yet either - I'll get to play tomorrow after work. FWIW, I have been out of my hole for a long time, hence I don't mind waiting an extra day to get it downloaded - I have other things in life, which is also why I won't take the time to look at every single post. I do remember the student life when I had more time to do such things, and frankly don't hold that against anyone.

Was it poor planning? Sure. So was what Blizzard did with the release of WoW - they grossly underestimated the number of servers they'd need - and made paying customers wait. Mod teams waste weeks of their lives making it so we can enjoy wasting hours of our own - they owe us nothing. I wasn't a part of the WoW release, but they made it up to their customers by giving away free days - what exactly do you feel you're entitled to because a group of complete strangers didn't waste another few hours of their life to make yours easier? The frustration is understandable - the attitude is not imo.

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA man that cracks me up bigtime! WOOT! you think thats bad? you should see my PM box

Whatever happened to code of conduct lol! hahaha your saying what i'm thinking bro!

EDIT: dont worry m8 - i am almost positive the rest of the devs would not involve themselves with this kind of behaviour! Alot of them are very genuine people - as with most things in life, one bad apple can spoil the whole basket - but dont let this experience change your opinion of the mod

eh my game crashes right after it's done with loading

maybe it's the "low option problem".. kinda big deal for me since i can't run all med setting.. should be fixed in next patch? (quick hotfix could be better for us crap comp users lol)
