    Re: Operation Peacekeeper v0.1D Released

DLing right now, will try later tonight once I convince my GF that I need to try it out!

The skins look REALLY nice, I'm really excited to see what it's going to offer us as a community.

You guys should think of adding a lawnmower to the vehicle listing, so I can run over the snipers in the really long grass!

PEACE..and hopefully will see ya'll on the Battlefield tonight!

Installed fine, and I found a server. After a full load, it crashes to desktop right before entering the map.

Make sure your terrain settings are set to Medium or above, or else it will crash upon clicking "Join Game"

The gunner in the tiger doesn't even have to aim, all his equipment is lock on. The gunner in the Hind has to do it all manually.

And why are the guns so inaccurate? I was hoping mods would make them more accurate than the (terrible) guns in BF2, but they are being made less accurate in this one??

With that, I do think that OPK has potential to be a very good mod but the maps need some serious attention.

I will focus on Borders Infiltration. Great concept...WAY TOO MANY FLAGS! Even with a packed server, it's only by chance that you encounter the enemy. We're basically playing ring around the rosie. You drive around with your squad and cap flags while the enemy follows you and retakes them.

Easy fix....limit the flags to 3 or 4 and force players to have head on battles. I would convert some of the existing flags to spwan points tied in to certain flags...so if you cap a certain flag, you get these spawn points with x amount of resources like tanks/jeeps, etc. You have to design your maps to force people to fight. All we did last night was chase eachother down just to have an engagement. I would also make all the maps BLEED maps. control a majority of the flags, your enemy bleeds in tickets forcing him to fight.
Totally agree - I was running and running and running...then met one enemy, running and running and then another after a kilometer :), too spread out and open. Needs some more places where theres shorter grass too.

The citymap lagged a lot for me, and there was a lot of dead ends to run into where I had to run back to exit which isnt so fun. A car was spawning into a narrow road which it couldnt get out of. There was a LOT of high brick walls in the town - maybe a bit too much for my taste, because when you run in those mazes, you just are lucky who are most awake after running around in the very big map.

Other then that I observed that the soldiers had a lot shorter lifespan then the vanilla soldiers, resulting in a lot of deaths and respawns. I know that this is to try to meet reality, but I'm not sure it is for the better.

I got the sound bug too which was driving me insane after 2 hours :)
Anyway - was fun. Good work on the mod, and hope to see improvements in patches on the things mentioned.
