Yep, would bet it requires a whopping 1 second on each of the three new maps to unlock also.

Ive always found it confusing why theres MEC and chinese ribbons plus their respective medals but theres only a USMC medal and no ribbon :S

All the requirements are so inconsistant with one another. They made the EU medal 50hrs but wasnt the ribbon 100h...hasnt that changed !?!?!

i'm all out of the ranking system as soon as good mods start to come out (i'm going to try out the 2 new mods that came out today YAY!!)

so for some greedy ppl, the rest of us that dont play the game all the time dont deserve anything? what does it matter after all? skill or time played??

Ok, that's nice guys, but what about the War College Ribbon? I don't want to work my a$$ off winning and teamswitching to get the ribbon (plus see my stats down there). It encourages a lot of teamswitching, even the best players.

This announcement is for updates in the 1.3 patch. Unless you are using the 1.3 patch at the moment, you didn't receieve those medals due to the lowering of the time.

You know I thought the same thing, but there they are. I've got the req for the Navy Cross, but not the other two....yet I have them....go figure.

Just because someone has bought the game does not make them crap or a twat. I only bought the game back in march as a friend recommended it. I am enjoying it thoroughly but I would not consider myself crap (i'm not an expert either) and I am certainly not a twat.

EA have probably thought about appeal to new gamers and want them to be able to acheive certain ranks before BF2142 comes out to maintain their user target audience for the new game. Otherwise what would be the point?

I'm sorry that it seems all your hard work has been undone, but that should not take the experience and hopefully fun you have had while attaining the ribbons and ranks you ahve acheived.

Oh yeah i have 103 hours as USMNC that means a Navy Cross for me!
MEC(standard) i have 73 hours so i will get the golden scimitar soon too!!!!1

I have a feeling that the requirements for some of the badges, ribbons will be tweaked as well.
Which wouldnt be a bad thing in some instances......expert repair anyone???

I think lowering the requirements for the expert vehicle badges is much more needed than that. Who is going to do 400h each in armor, helo and aviator?
The new requirements for SF medals are appreciated anyway.

Guys,

don't forget that it's just a game and that these awards are valid only in the bf2 world... You can't (or shouldn't) put then on a resume!!!
I read people are talking about "working hard" etc...
please!!!

You guys don't go to job interviews with a print out of your BF2 score details? It's how I scored this |337 job where I get to see chicks sometimes!

Seriously...the time it takes to get a ribbon/badge/medal doesn't have any effect on how well you shoot a SAW or fly a helo. It only shows how much time to spend playing, not really how good you are at it. There are a few that take some skill but I haven't spent rounds and rounds of playing trying to get a certain ribbon/badge/medal and I'm happy with what I have. If it makes you that ticked off go play CS.
