  • Eve of Destruction Mod Update

The team behind the Eve of Destruction mod are back today with day two of their media blitz week. This time around they are showing off some weapons. Take a look:
Today we have an update on weapons for you. Although you may have seen some of these as renders before, you won't have seen them all in game. Today we also have 2 new weapons to show you, the M14 and the PPSH41. The Modeling department have been working hard to get these weapons ingame. So here they are. Todays Ingame shots are of the following: RPG, M14, PPSH41, M3A1/Grease Gun, Type56, MAS49/56.

Very impressive looking weapons. Swing by their site to check out the weapon renders. Also be sure to check out TotalBF2's interview with EoD.

Looks great, only thing I dislike is how shinny the wood on the M14 is, needs to be dulled down some.

That PPSH looks exactly like the one from the Yugoslav BFV Mod.

Haha, yeah it does. In fact, the back sight of PPSh is wrong.

Screw the guns.... ***** for the classic looking EoD maps! This is what I've been waiting for.

Can't wait anyone who knows how long time its left?

Doesn't the M14 look a little to tiny?? It was quiet big rifle but on ingame it looks like a sub machine gun whit those huge hands grabbing it

I think thats the problem with BF2, the bigger the object the smaller it looks like in 1st Person - ex.: RPG

Fully aware of that problem, it looks perfect in 3p, but too small in 1p..

That PPsH is the same one from Flashpoint Balkans mod. Model was by Tyler2 and skin was by me. You may use it, but please give proper credit.

                              Dragunova,

We'll have to fix that photo on the ppsh41. Many apologies. That model was submitted by Ninjo when we were evaluating the PPSH41 and working out some animation issues. I was told by Ninjo that he was given permission to use the weapon for EoD. His intention was that we use it as a test model to work on weapon animations. We did not have a PPSH41 early on in our Dev Build. I believe that Ninjo is/was a mapper for Flashpoint and helped on the Flashpoint Dev Team. Ninjo does mapping for EoD, as well as, USI. I think he is actually in several mod teams. I don't keep track.

We do have a PPSH41 that was modeled by Flyboy. However, I do not know the status of our PPSH41. We have several of us coding weapons and stuff. It has been hard to keep track. The person making the render on our website just knew that Ninjo was involved with a PPSH41 and that Flyboy a weapon modeler for EoD had created one.

Seeing how that model is not our model (but the test model we recieved from your mod). Proper credit does belong to you guys.

Again, my apologies to your mod team and the community. I personally, should have checked what ppsh41 the guys were going to render. I honestly did not pay that close attention to it.

I appreciate you allowing us to display the model and use it in EoD. I will make sure that the render on our webpage is fixed to give proper credit as long as the weapon stays in the EoD mod. If there is any support or help we can offer back to your mod. Please let me know.
