Need some help

I am very new to bf2, and i require a little assistance.

First off, this may sound noobish, but is there a way to skip passed the 2 minute into video when i open up bf2?

Secondly, i guess i have the first version of bf2, because there is only 35-ish servers on my list. how do i get more? I was about to download BF2 1.22 but i realized that it would take a hour to download. Is there an automatic patch that should have been downloaded, or at least one that will take significantly less than 1 hour to download?

1. if you are talking about the two minute video, with the chinese vs the americans, yes, just hit "Esc" in the top left hand corner of your keyboard and it stops and goes to the login page.

2. you need to Download the 1.22 FULL patch and install it, or find the 1.21 FULL patch, and then install that, and then do the 1.22 incremental patch.

so its either where you are currently > 1.22full or
where you are curretly>1.21full > 1.22 incrimental
(i believe that is right, but I have never had patch issues so it can be wrong, but it sounds like itl work).

you need to have 1.22 to play with everyone else on all the servers.

For the intro movies the easiest thig to do is go to,

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2

and rename the Movies folder to Movies2, then they won't play anymore including the in-menu stuff.

the bf2 patches are really big so thats right...and it will take an hour to install the patches

when ur deleting the movies/renaming them, then it will remove all the movies from the intro, so when u r in the menu, ull get see the menu and optiions and stuf, but itll be a grey bground (no movie playing in the bground_

Hey again,

I installed the Patch v 1.21 and the Patch v1.21 to 1.22, and the patch v 1.21 seems to be laging a lot when i open and run it. It is taking a long time for it to open. Does this mean there is an error in it?

Yeah--I fianlly downloaded 1.21 yesterday. It took a while. The installation was a 'b'. I also installed v1.21 to 1.22 today. Took like 1 minute. Now that I have these patches installed, what do i do with them? Am i supposed to copy them somewhere?

I also have a small problem that needs some tinkering or something done. I can open Bf2 easily, but when i try to log online, it freezes basically at the Connection to Account Server. It's done this like 2 or 3 times. I had to manually turn off my computer which is bad for it, so i want to refrain from doing that again. What should I do? Also, can u minimize BF2 during loading screens? I know that in other games ctrl+alt+del works sometimes, or alt+tab to minimize, but it doesnt work for me.

Assuming that you have a software firewall running, did you allow BF2 access after patching? Patching changes the exe, so it could be your firewall that is preventing access.

hmm im not sure though --- my firewall instantly pop ups whenever i run a new program. It asked if i wanted to run Bf2 on all ports.. but it might not allow it to connect still. ill look into it. thnx
