PLA Mandarin Language Mistakes

Thanks to Arabian Knight for the inspiration, and cause in his thread some folks were asking for the PLA's booboos. The chinese dialect being spoken in BF2 is mandarin, basically the folks around Beijing.

Message: I need a pickup!

Original: Hey, Wo Xu Yao Ye Ge Jiao Tong Gong Ju!

Translation: Hey, I need a form of transportation!

Made a mistake, it wasn't public transport. Public would be 'Gong Gong Jiao Tong'. Mixed up there.

Message: I need a medic!

Original: Wo Xu Yao Yi Ming Yi Sheng!

Translation: I need a doctor!

Wow, the PLA can afford to hire doctors to send into the battlefield

Message: Hit it!

Original: Gan Diao Ta!

Translation: Finish it off!

Message: Alright, you're good to go!

Original: (something), ne hao hao qu zuo ba!

Translation: (something), go work on it nicely!

Message: Go! Go! Go!

Original: Kuai! Kuai! Kuai!

Translation: Fast! Fast! Fast!

Some of the translations are pretty good, but I can't make out the others. The translator seems to be mumbling or inventing words, or maybe it's some dialect. Examples are those when reinforcements are running low, or when you're out of the combat zone.

Yeah sure, shoot me, if that's the best way in your oppinion to solve problems... No wonder you just lock thread coz you don't like them... Anyways, I saw requests on other parts of the forum for this thread.
Next time you might check what this thread actually is about and realize that it is being asked for!

well i got a good laugh out of this. i actually know some chinese and i recognized some of wat the PLA say. and tho i think u translated everything correctly, but i want to point out that english translations can sound very weird even tho they sound perfectly colloquial/normal in chinese. i cant thnk of any examples, but if my mom ever talks to me in chinse when friends are around, they ask me wat she said and it doesnt translate very nicely into english. just sounds awkward

I think some of the messages simply cannot be properly translated, like the "Hit it" and "Go, Go, Go" - I think the ones they are using now are OK.

And yes, some of the radio messages for some reason are in Cantonese instead of Mandarin. Don't ask me why...

Yeah, I did pick up some Cantonese dialect from some of the messages. Wasn't sure if it was really Cantonese or if it was me being so inexperienced.
