Whoa... bad representation on that technology. Then again, what can one expect from FOX News? :p

That system is basicly a computer guided claymore. When it detects a highspeed object coming in, if fires a shotgun blast in it's direction which hopefully clips the warhead off the rocket/missile.

            Problems:
            - It's not reliable. Even with a direct hit, it may leave the warhead intact and it will still impact.
            - Limited use. It's a one shot counter that's can easily be overwhelmed but multiple inbound weapons.
            - Friendly fire. When it counters an incoming attack, it may also take out escort soliders close to or within the path of the incoming weapon.

It's a promising technology but it's nowhere near ready for field mounting. As mentioned in the clip, it's only had 2 successful tests so far. That's 2 succeses vs hundreds of failures.

Once again, FOX runs a sensational story that's light on facts and big on ratings. Not a shocker. Watch FOX News like you would an 80s action movie. It's entertaining, but NOT to be taken seriously.

lol, at one side, when the RPG is comming in, and some dudes are walking next to the armor vehicle, the system shoots the RPG and some of the teammates, at the other side, they would of been dead anyway when the RPG would hit

Too cool, however if ti was implemented in BF2, you would here whining from the AT group and it would get patched out faster than the ability to jump and shot.

Normal infantry escort is done at 15 to thirty feet for this very reason. I'm just regurgatation some of the issues with the system that need to be overcome before it sees the field that I've seen posted elsewhere. Trying to find the pages I was snooping... but it was during a longish surf and I'm not having much luck so-far.

Ah....I stopped at Fox. They make me laugh... They are just about the stupidest News channel ever. The most Fox I get is through the Daily Show.
