I've been punished for team killing!!!

okay this might sound weird but could it be a new bug...

I joined a server playing on Karaknd...when I spawnd I ran off with my support gun and one of my team guys threw a grenade from behind me and I got killed..... ..... ...... AND PUNISHED!

for crying out loud I didnt use my weapons yet!!! how can I be punished...

again I continued playing and and grenades were flying over me and other guys and we all got killed from our own guys.... .... and again I got PUNISHED!

WHATS GOING ON?

Probably some lame bug. I have seen a dozen TeamKill related bugs in my day.

well i dont know if this has anythng to do with it, but have you ever seen the screen say someone got killed but it didnt say by who?

Why would someone answer yes to that question. I highly doubt it was a cheat of any kind. With the amount of odd bugs in the game, the best bet is you just ran into one of them.

Beats me.

This was another strange one though.....

I was playing on Karkand and shot a couple guys running across the road. Got the typical "you killed enternamehere" message for both guys, but then during the same firefight it suddenly said that I was killed by someone. I was still very much alive and firing back. It wasn't lag because I got up and ran off elsewhere. Hadn't ever seen that before.

ive had that with clan mates, it will say "so and so m95 spitsfreeman"
yet not only am i alive but am on the other side of the map, has happened a few times very strange :shakehead

Last night, I was in a chopper that was about to blow, (I was not the pilot) and he told everyone to bail, so I did. I deployed my chute and made it to the ground.......only to be awarded with like 3 teamkils...what?? I was kicked from the server automatically for excessive team killing. the only thing I can think of is that my chute somehow killed those guys. Whatever.....

Obviously this is what happened:
When your corpes hit the ground, the guy behind you tripped over it and broke his neck. Thus, you were responceible for his death and were suitably punished for it.

the bf2 netcode is one big mistery , I have seen many strange things

join server , walk around, didn't do anything yet, and suddenly the message apears : you got killed by .... , but I didn't die at all .

otherwise the same, got messages like : you killed .... , but I didn't do anything.

Yeah it was your parachute that killed them. You must have deployed it when they were still free falling and touched it. It seems the standard issue parachute is made out os some alien, indestructable metal. I tried ramming someone in the air once or twice with a chopper while they were parachuting. My helo blew up when I colided with them killing me and my co-pilot while the guy continued to parachute and landed safely on the ground. Same happened once while I was in a plane :cry:. I understand that tha parachute must have mangled with my helo rotor and it took me down but it at least should have killed him too lol. No streatch of my imagination can explain the plane crash though .

you guys should see the atart on warlord on a 64 server, half the team uses the spwan point witch drops you out of the sky, always some guys TK'ing there with parashutes , very funny, round starts, you fly there, and next to you you see some guys dropping to the floor
