Why is it when you play medic, try to revive someone, only to have your EFFIN' MEDKIT switched??????????????????

I really would like to hear the rationale behind that one.

"Why?" was the bonus question on my philosophy exam.

I noted that some of my classmates were going up for extra sheets of paper and writing furiously on the subject.

I wrote "Because" and got full marks.

Sometimes when you try to revive someone just as they fade away you end up with what I assume is their kit. Tonight it happened to me 3 times. Are you saying that has never happened to you? I think it only happens when the revivee fades just as you apply the shock paddles.

Well, I for one can say that 90% of the time I have ever been revived by a squadmember, that I end up with his kit and him with mine.. there is no way to switch kits afterwards unless you reverse the role by revivng him later..

I never understood why this is.. I contributed it to the other times I was a lone wolfe and was revived and would obtain a kit from a nearby soldier that wasnt revived yet.. but since this last patch .. its almost a given, get revived lose the kit you had becuase you will inevitably gain the medics kit and he your old kit.

Go figure...

No worries. People do odd things in the heat of the moment. I only thought of it because I was becoming annoied at how often I'd get zapped back to life and have someone else's kit. Took me awhile to figure out that most of the time all I had to do was quickly smack G before the other guy got revived and I'd get my kit back. This often results in the other dude doing his Evil Dead impression... but hey, as long as it's him, I don't mind.

Still odd that a fading corpse would drag your medic kit out of your hands.

I was later BSing with my prof over a twisty smoke and I asked him if he's have accepted "Why not?" on that exam. He said he "Yes, but not for full marks since philosophy is supposed the be the search for answers, not more questions. "Why?", is the universal question. "Because", is the univeral answer.... 'ere.". *hack cough*.

I highly recomend taking philosophy.

It really ****es me off when i save a medics life and he's too stupid to switch his kit back, probably not even realising that he's holding an mg36 instead of a g36e

If you save a medic's life, you have to run up to him and hit G to pick up his kit, then use his own shock paddles to revive him. He will then get the nearest kit to his body when you revive him, which will usually be your discarded kit (unless there's a pile of bodies and kits there). Once he's alive and you've got each other's kit though, he can't just drop the kit for you to pick up again...

The only way it would work is if there was another (spare) kit lying on the floor. He could then discard your kit for the spare, you could then pick up your kit thereby discarding his, and he could then pick it up again. But to get all that co-ordinated on a server full of strangers? Unlikely to happen.
