RAM upgrade effect

Hi, i have:

• 6600 LE 256mb
• 768mb ram (1x512 1x256)
• P4 2.26ghz

All my settings are on low except view distance which is on 100% (for sniping), but what would the effect be on graphics if i replaced my 256 stick with a gigabyte 1??

Your FPS will stay the same, but load times will be reduced, and studdering will be almost eliminated.

I had 1 gig and when I upgraded to 2 I could see a huge difference. More memory never hurts. If you can, get (2) 1 gig sticks.

Thanks. Its not cost effective to get 2 sticks. The first is a jump from 256 - 1gb, while the 2nd is a jump from 512 - 1gb.

so you will have a 1gb stick and 2x512 sticks? that is really weird, I mean, your load times will lessen, and your fps will probably go high (at higher settings), but I mean, not as much as it could because of the weird configuration.
