Tank 2-shot kill

So, I've been hearing how you just "shoot the tank in the tracks" for an easy 2 shot kill. I've seen it hundreds if not thousands of times on this forum, but ive never done it.

So, Exactly what part of the track do I need to hit. Ive shot the front part, the track itself, the wheel things, the rear of the tracks. Each time requiring 3+ Shots to end the tanks life and NO there were no engi's, crates, or other armor around. Just a lone tank and it WONT die with 2 shots no matter what I do.

So WHERE do i hit the track at? Pics would be great.

P.S.- I have noticed that hitting the underbelly of a tank is great for a 2-shot kill, otherwise i cant make it happen.

You can blow a tank up with a one shot kill, just below the turret or above the front of the tread I think, someone posted a video of doing it.

The two shot kill is not all that hard to get. You need to be facing either the front of back of the tank (or be good enough to maneuver the rocket so that it is). You will see the point where the treads come from under the tank and go up for a bit, you want to hit it where the treads are going up.

if \--------/ was the treads of the tank (from a side veiw, i wouldn't know how to tell you from the front or back) you would want to hit it where the treads are slanted to continue their loop.

The best way to learn is to start your own server, and aim at all the different spots yourself. I learnt a lot about shooting down choppers this way

yeah, your own, or an empty server, great way to practice this.

I took a fraps movie using both the T90 and M1A1 and one-shot killing the other tank. Doing it to the M1A1 is a bit easier as the turret sits higher up. Its just to the left or right of the turret - the idea is that the round scores damage off of the top of the body, deflects, and scores more dmg off of the turret itself.

As far as 2 shot kills, the backside of the tracks are easier, but if you practice it a bit solo, you'll see some decent areas to do the same to the front of the tank. I tend to aim more for the turret/body base, hoping for that lucky 1 shot kill, or to at least cause a severe amount of damage.

check my sig for the original one shot videos and a brutal hit in the second video (the brutal hit works on all tanks, just never edited the vid to say that).

But for the two shot tank kill, like the other guy said, hit the part of the tread that starts going straight up before it goes under the skirt.
