One Major Problem with certain BF2 maps is that when your team's aicraft will not help you against enemy aircraft. I was at temple and we had 3 helo's and 2 tanks literally sitting outside blowing up everything they see. Meanwhile i notice that all of our aircraft are out and about racking up kills.
Re: Fellow Teammates not Supporting Against Aircraft
lol beent there, done that... Love seeing pilots trying to out bomb each other, while us ground-pounders are getting shelled to death.
Would like to see a fighter-type of aircraft introduced to the game - no bombs - missles / machine gun only - and let the real avaitors spend some time in them shooting down that f'ing SU34

Re: Fellow Teammates not Supporting Against Aircraft
Most of my aircraft kills are from taking out the enemy jets, they are the biggest threat to you while flying, AA can be escaped by flying vertically, but jets sometimes can be hard to escape from if they are on your tale especially if the person piloting is a good pilot, so you want to take out them first before they take out you.
Re: Fellow Teammates not Supporting Against Aircraft
If im flying and I see any group of veichles I make that my first priority. I also Always just bomb anything that I see that comes from the enemy flag closest to our flag. I also do hate it when I get a pilot like that

Can we please have some teamwork?
are you kidding?
please realize that MAJORITY of flyboys fly because they want to earn over 50 pts while dying less than 5 times in a round. sure, it'd be icing on the cake if his team wins but let's be honest here... they have the "me first" mentality.

Dont subject the "me first" attitude to only pilots. Many players playing BF2 have that same mentality for the points and ranks. Whether it be the jets, choppers or tanks, the majority have that attitude I'm sure.
And about OP problem, yes it is very unfortunate, you should have me on your team some time i'll see what I can do for ya.

Your right on pulic servers the majority of players are in it for the points, i get disc'd a lot because i have many many hours yet my points are low, but they are missing the point, i dont' generally play to get points i play to accomplish objectives points are a bonus...although sometimes i play for objectives and medals combined
Re: Fellow Teammates not Supporting Against Aircraft
I always respond to teammates when they call out targets, if I hear heli spotted or armor spotted, I will always respond with the pg.up key and then attempt to assist. This of course if I am not locked up by another jet. Use your spot key so that it shows up on the map. You will get help. (at least from me)
Re: Fellow Teammates not Supporting Against Aircraft
Also consider that some people don't have joysticks, or don't bother setting it up for BF2, cause they are better at other aspects of the game. If I do a spec ops run, and manage to steal a plane, I'd have to only bomb, cause going up against better pilots with joysticks, is suicide pure and simple, I'm liable to crash a plane trying to land it (to give to a better pilot, JSF better for this purpose, for a non pilot especially), Imagine trying to survive a dog fight against a fighter.
But I generally don't bitch about planes, I survive them well enough in a APC (moving 24/7), or grab some AA (even static will do), since I've been shooting down planes before 1.2. So if the planes on my team deal with them first thats good, but if they bomb the massive armour column, and then go after a plane it's better for me in the long run, since a armour colmoun can actually block my path, where as planes are a matter of surviving a short attack as they pass you. Even a plane bombing infantry at a flag, is the perfect opening for an infantry attack, if you can't get arty or a chopper.
Also I imagine much like AA trying to take out another plane can lead to alot of TKs, if this changed then you might see alot more skilled pilots doing it, since they wouldn't be punished for doing what they should be doing.
It's a real shame when your in a attack chopper, and your own teams stray missle kills you mid chopper duel.
