    I just got this!!!

    Hi,

Thanks for writing us back at EA Technical Support. I'm sorry for the troubles this has caused you.

This does appear to be a result of a registration error with the purchase. We should have this fixed for your order tomorrow so please attempt to re-download the game at that time, in some cases you may need to re-install the EA Downloader from our site. Please let me know if you are still having trouble then. I apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience that this causes you.

First manually uninstall your EA Downloader (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...?p_faqid=11090).

Once you have uninstalled EA Downloader please download the latest version here ( http://downloader.ea.com/). Reboot your system and download Battlefield 2: Euro Forces again.

Should you require further assistance with this game or other Electronic Arts games in the future, please visit our website and review our extensive Self Help knowledgebase at (http:support.ea.com).

    Thank you,

    Leo V

Now, they indicate Euro which means this is another cut/paste response but this is most certainly a new response. lol

I will retry BF2:SF later and post the result.

    EDIT:

Redid the EA Downloader, redownloaded game, reinstalled SF with patch 1.22 and it made no difference.

ALTHOUGH... i didnt reboot like they said!!! I will try that again later, with a complete reinstall of everything.

{1D171963-9063-4423-898B-8EC4F1F190B7} was found in several places and i needed to delete more than the first one in order to properly reinstall.

I did a clean uninstall of BF2. Downloaded the EA DL thing again. Rebooted.

Did a fresh install of BF2. Downloaded the SF and 1.22 patch.

Clicked "install" on SF and it wont install. It just crashes to desktop.

SO, i tried the RegFix thing... and the same thing. Now it just doesnt install at all.

    REAL PROGRESS

When installing, I encountered the "BF2CdKeyCheck.exe" error as outlined in FAQ #11143. As I did not want to spend hours redownloading :SF for it to possibly have the same problem again, I looked for a solution. I found a solution on the TotalBF2 forums ( http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67172 ) and followed the advice, using "BF2SFRegFix.zip" and inputting 'myusername' and my BF2 CDKey which allowed me to install :SF properly.

However, after installing and patch updating to 1.22, any attempts to connect to an internet server with :SF fail, with the game telling me that the CDKey is invalid and to go purchase a real copy, which I have already done. BF2 Internet Play works properly, it is only :SF that will not allow me to connect.

I followed the advice at FAQ #10959 but this did not help, the same error occurs when connecting to an Internet server. Other advice stating to look at "eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-ep1.eam" for my CDKey does not work either, as the key written at 'regkey=' is my BF2 vanilla CD Key, possibly as a result of me using "BF2SFRegFix.zip" earlier.

Is it still possible to retrieve my BF2:SF key and use it with the game without having to completely download and reinstall?

Fun, fun. Too bad that didn't work, as BF2:SF spits out "Invalid uniquenick".. Contacted them again roughly 24 hours ago, nothing since.

Hey, try again with the BF2SFRegFix.exe but insert your base BF2 key.

So... yet another update on my end...

I was asked for my EA account name, my ingame game and my affiliated email. I also gave them my key again. I think they have some type of registration database on their end that is messing up and thus messes up your install with the EA Downloader.

Anyways, so they told me this:

        Greetings,

The downloader should now function correctly. You will need to re-download the game through the program. Please clear the cache information saved before starting the download again with the instructions on the following page:

Please let me know if the download is still not working.
So, for better or for worse im actually reinstalling the downloader itself again, including ripping out all the parts of it in the registry. I've learned enough so far to know to use overkill in terms of reinstalling. This includes doign a full search of everything with "1D171963-9063-4423-898B-8EC4F1F190B7" in it.

        Reinstalled EA Downloader from http://downloader.ea.com/

Re-downloaded & Installed SF (without reinstalling BF which is also patched to 1.22)

        Installed 1.22 again.

"Error 32791:6 Unable to authorize decryption. Please ensure that the clock is set correctly on your computer, and try again. If the problem persists, wait, then try again later. The download service may be unavailable."

I had that last night as well and yet following their procedures ive yet to break away from this new error.

        I'm awaiting response from EA.

Make sure that you set your region correctly in the same control panel where you set the clock. I think the error is related to it.

UPDATE: This is what EA Customer Support has on the error:

          Question
I get an error code of 32791:6 when using the EA downloader.

          Answer

This error is caused when there is an attempt to install a number of times on multiple computers. This feature is active to help to prevent illegal distribution of the product. If you receive this message please allow at least 48 hours for the server to verify and reset.

Remember that Electronic Arts grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to download and/or install and use one copy of the software and/or materials solely for your personal noncommercial use. Please read the EA End User License Agreement in which you agree to when installing our product.

I've already done that o_O and I did it again just now, to be sure. No difference.

The error I get for trying to login SF with my EA Downloader username is "The uniquenick provided is incorrect." Blah. I'm supposed to use my EA Downloader username for BF2RegFix, right?

I would think they would be able to just look at their database, see "hey, maketa's SF cd key should be 0BF2190231902310923CD, here email program, send it to him with instructions on how to regedit" and be done with it >_>

You would think so... and i asked them explicitly what my registry should say. However, like i said, i could play online with SF when i just used a friend's key temporarily so the issue is on THEIR end.

I think something happens before/during download in terms of connecting to their central database in some way with a proper registration of your key. It's obviously buggy, and seems to sometimes require reboots, luck and divine inspiration.

Keep bugging them on the support site. They ARE responding to me, albeit slowly.

BTW, i foudn this on the official forums about "error 32791:6"

              Hello,

I recently had this same problem. I tried on 3 different computers and got the same error on each! But it is finally resolved and here is what transpired.

I contacted tech support and went through all the troubleshooting steps they suggested even though I knew it was a problem on their end. After they had no ideas left and after much convincing they agreed to try it on their end using my EA downloader user name. Guess what!!!! It didn't work and produced the same error. So I convinced them to create a new account for me for EA downloader.

Once they did that I logged out of EA downloadeer, logged in with the new account and downloaded Euro Force. Amazingly it worked with no problems!

So if you are still having this problem contact tech support and try and get them to create you a new account!
That was just a few weeks ago. GIven the apparent changes to the EA Downloader recently i suspect they might not follow that policy any more... but who knows.

I checked my timezone info and it was all set. I checked my region info and it was actually wrong. I changed it from ENglish(South Africa) to English(USA) and it still makes no difference. I will reinstall the EAD tho, just in case.

Well, if this error is caused by multiple installs on diff computers... that's because EA probably tested my account on their end and now i cant install.

                Greetings,

Sorry for the delay. The situation regarding the CD Key error has been resolved and the installation should function correctly now. Please download the item through the downloader.

If you already downloaded or installed the game please use directions here to start fresh:

Note: You will NOT need to remove the original Battlefield 2 in all cases.

If this does not help or you are receiving a different error please reply back to let me know.
..so I am currently redownloading Special Forces.. a quick glance at eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-ep1.eam tells me that.. the regkey in there is:
                a) actually there and;
                b) different from what was there before. shock!

I will edit this post with an update when it is finished downloading again..

EDIT: Works, and works great! :)

                  WELL!!!!

I got the same message from EA. I just re-downloaded SF.

I checked the EAM file and... i have a NEW key there!!!!

But i still got the 32791:6 error.

I'm going to try to reinstall everything from safe mode...

                  :EDIT:

Same thing in safe mode... 32791:6 "clock" error.

It's been way over 48 hours since i last extracted/installed SF. You'd think that if THEY install using your damn ID they would reset it for you when they tell you "it will work now."

And now it's been 48 hours since my last SF download (i was basically told to wait by EA in spite of them forcing me into this situation).

It's been 10+ days since i bought Special Forces.

                        32791:6 error still.

Re: Invalid CD Key: impossible to resolve?

I posted a new "Question" on the tech support page. Here is what i wrote.

I get a "32791:6 error" and cannot install BF2:SF. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE RESPONDING WITH A GENERIC RESPONSE ABOUT THIS ERROR. Thank you.

I was told to wait for it to reset and it's been well over 72 hours. That was last thursday. It is Monday night, 4/17/2006. I've asked for clarity on this matter and have received no response.

I purchased SF on 4/4/2006 and have been unable to resolve a whole set of installation problems through no fault of my own.

Reference case #060405-000103 started on 4/5/2006 initially as a CD Key Error. The initial error was resolved but the more basic problem with EA's key registration remained and i was not given a solution.

Reference case #060409-000141 started on 4/9/2006 (to get a response) and left unresolved with no response in days.

This error allegedly is caused when an account has been connected with too many downloads over a few days OR when it is involved with downloads in many computers. The reason i may have downloaded it so many times is because of EA's support suggestoins to "fix" my installation problem and as ongoing attempts to document EA's bugs. It is also possible that having shared my account info and key, that perhaps EA tested on their own computers which exacerbated the "ban" status of my account.

I waited patiently for 48 hours after being told this is just a 48 wait issue, and yet it still didnt function. It's been 72 hours and i've yet to get an answer or be provided with a solution.

I've done precisely what EA has suggested and i am still unable to use this software 13 days after purchase.

                            Fair Questions:

                            - Does the "ban" on installation get reset every time you try to install? That would explain why perhaps the ban continued after 48 hours (because i kept TRYING again).

                            - What is EA doing to resolve this matter on their end, for a legimate customer who has been very patient and methodical in helping to identify the issue?
                            Guess what?

I got a generic copy/paste response about 32791:6 from EA.

                            EDIT:

The EAD just updated itself (which is odd, because given the previous requests to download updates you'd think this would have updated itself before).

                            It is installing!!!!!!!!!!

                            EDIT2:

It is actually loading a server. It appears that 14 days later... i may really be able to finally play BF2: SF. :)

Anyways, it's all documented now. I hope this is helpful to somebody else down the road.

                            EDIT3:

Crap, i spoke too soon (how silly of me to believe this was resolved!)

Im now getting the "unmodified content" error upon joining a server.

Seriously, EA needs to fire some of these people. They are the worse software developers i have seen in a decade.

                            EDIT4:

Reinstall worked fine with patch 1.22 at the end.

I just bought SF and am having the same problem with my BF2 CD Key. I've e-mail EA but haven't heard anything back yet. Now, before I start fiddling around with my registry and what-not, I have a friend with a working Key which I could use but does anyone know if that will cause problems. Just in case I can't get mine working, I can use his Cd Key but I don't want to get his key banned or anything if we happen to play on the same server or something.
