Artillery message..."Shot over"

When I launch arti as a commander I sometimes hear "Shot over"...does this mean that the arti will be off-set from the designated fire mission, or is it simply the same as the "Artillery Firing" message ?

Also I miss the binocs. from 1942 and DC. I would be able to see through the eyes of the scout if I was using a heavy weapon.

Its an alternative message meaning "artillery is firing" it means thats your artillery is firing to the place you placed on the satellite map, they are just trying to add abit of personality to the game with these kinda messages such as "Shot over"

It's an automatic message that just signifies you've designated an artillery strike. It doesn't mean anything besides that.

What it actually means is the fire mission is finished.

Shot over means "the shooting is finished".

In real life artillery use this means the explosives are on the way. There is often quite a delay between where the action is and where the artillery is.

Front lines : Echo Firebase, this is Ranger one, we need a shake and bake at <fill in co -ords>

Atry : 8 rounds Hi ex and willie pete, on its way.

Yeah its means its been shot...

its like a nuclear reactor...its a confusing phrase, like when a "Reactor is reaching critical mass" it means the reactor is running at full power, not that its gonna 'splode

In Living History with the artillery we would keep an ear out for the Rammer's "UP!" call because the next audible will be from the Gun Captian tauting the lanyard and the rest of the crew covering the ears. The next verbal command should come from the Battery commander who will order fire either by section or entire battery.

Artillery in modern war is very discliplined and lethal. You want that arty to go HERE and dont want to be HERE LOL.
