    Medics and Medic Whores

I need an opinion so I figured I should ask around here.

Yesterday I was playing a pretty normal game of BF2 in which I simply happened to play Medic for the entire round. By round's end I had 55 teamwork points, 26 kills and 11 deaths and put myself in position for the gold star. I had gone USMC that round and had often been killing an opposing medic who finished the round with 30 kills, 13 deaths, and a total of 0 teamwork points. He finished first for the MEC team.

Where the story gets funny is that at the beginning of the next round the opposing medic decided to switch to the USMC, joined my squad, and began to call me a medic whore over VoIP. His reasoning was that I was a stat whore because I only chose to obtain points by healing and revivng teamates. To say the least, I laughed. He yelled at me and told me that I had no skill and a medic with real skill kills people. Unofrtunately this wasn't the first time I had heard this arguement.

Which gets me to thinking. I had always felt it was safe to assume that the Medic class was designed to support his team more than anything, however, there are obviously people out there who feel otherwise. So my question is: Is the medic's ability to kill too strong to the point where your typical CS kiddies feel the medic class can be a pure combat class? If this is the case why does the assualt class exist? I've always felt the G36E was slightly too strong (I use the gun while playing as a Medic), but I wonder if the class in general is too powerful or if incidents like the one described above are just cases of idiots mouthing off. I'd like to hear other's opinions.

There is no such thing as a medic whore. I've been playing this class through most of my BF2 "career" and hearing people call me a whore for reviving them is steaming pile of ****e.

Regardless, if I find anyone who calls me a whore when I medic, I end up teabagging their head for a while, then ignore their pleas for me to revive them. It works, and brings self satisfaction!

        Long Live Medic Whores!

isnt that what a medic is supposed to do is heal and revive people especially the people in ur squad. if u want to kill people be support or assault. thats why each kit to me has a specific role.

You can play the medic as a self healing assualt. If it works why not? Just don't complain when you get run over by a squad with an assualt, support and a medic that work together.

I think that the medic class is fine since it does not require you to play as a squad. There are people who prefer to play lone wolf style and that is their choice. Generally speaking though, I think that ANY class is stronger when balanced off with other classes in a squad.

In your case (and billions of other cases like it) I just think that ANY emotion, effort or time put into fighting about a video game and how it is played is a complete waste.

when playing medic i always seem to revive more than i kill, but isnt that good? cause your saving your team a ticket. I've found that if i dont play medic and one of my teammates get shot or dies im like "crap i could have healed him"

but i dont think theres such a thing as a "medic whore"

unless you revive ppl in front of a tank/APC

I don't see what you are saying? It's just the queer who feels like going to the trouble of switching teams and joining a squad to b*tch at someone over a MIC for no reason but to be an ass and reveal his age of 14. Maybe he was just ****ed off for some reason, but it it looks like he is the stat whore who can't go five minutes without ALT-Tabing and checking his stats. VOIP is great when you find a good squad, but I do agree that is dumb.

How does the ticket system work? 1 ticket for critically wounding someone, then another when they die??? Or what?

Dead-on. I have moved away from my old primary kit (medic) to work on other kits, but whenever I see a field of dead teammates I think, ****, I could have saved us 5 tickets and pushed the assult forward.

The dude was just a whining b***h because he got robbed of his little kindergarden-goldstar. He is one of those those medics that I hate in the game. One that runs past you when you are yelling "I need a medic." His logic is wrong, saying his primary job is to kill. Well, if you have team mates that are being killed, doesn't that negate all the work you are trying to accomplish my killing? If the enemy gets 10 kills because you did not drop a medpak or revive a couple times, aren't you really costing your team -10 points because that was the kit you choose?

It would be nice to have him on you team as Assult, but he would be an asshat on you team if he was a Medic.

If all he wants to do is kill with a g36 then he should be playing as spec ops.

a ticket isnt lost when someone is critically wounded, only after their 15 seconds are up, which is where the medic comes helpful...however, a ticket is lost if you are instantly killed, such as blowing up while in a tank and getting the "You were killed" message
